Blood sugars have been crackers for the past 24 hours so due to exhaustion, I ended up going and coming from the supermarket in a taxi - £9 for transport and then the food cost £26. Plenty were whoopsies but loads of healthy fruit and stuff. I hope it lasts for a while.
Sometimes you have to do whats right for you at the time, and if that means getting a taxi because of health reasons then so be it.
I am sure you got loads for your £26 and it will last you way more than a week! Whoopsies are very hit and miss around my way. I could drive to Morrisons and Asda but the yellow sticker brigades there are feral :rotfl:
I spent £1.16 yesterday on fruit for work, and 14p today for a banana. Bananas are probably the only thing i insist on buying dailyI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. I wish I was a bit closer to the supermarket. It would save me loads.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

Good morning
I'm not shopping this weekend because I don't need to :j :j I need to pick up a couple of things like cheese and bread but that's all I "need". I've got veg, two full freezers and potatoes waiting to be pulled
I've ended this week on £2 left in my purse. It was £10 but I had to break into it to buy some margarine, I treated myself yesterday to a bottle of diet coke that was fizzy (decanted DC doesn't stay fizzy for very long :rotfl:) and a pastry for breakfast. Last night I CBA to cook so I went to the chippy
It's the work summer party today. Total cost to me - £0.00. It's a free bar and hog roast and I've made a cake entirely from ingredients I already had in
Tonight I'm at my best friends for food and drinks and I'll only be paying for a taxi home
Saving wise, only the odd £2 coin in the pot this week. However, I've been doing a bit of extra work which has netted me in the region of £70
House prices are scaring me stupid now. A house across the road from me is on the market for offers in excess of £300,000  it doesn't even fit *any* of my criteria so goodness knows how much one that does would cost. That's why SO is my only option
Lots of time outdoors this week for me - just as well I don't need to go out and buy suncream :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Well done on not needing to buy much food and on saving some money.
OMG a free bar at work and a free works do. That is fab. Wish our work was like that!
Houses are so expensive but at least you are doing something towards obtaining one. Many people don't even think about it and are wasting money with no thought to the future.
I'm gardening too! Thank you so much for your help with the query on the thread. The weather is glorious here.Aiming for a minimal spend 20221 -
Well yesterday was fun I came home with cans of alcohol and a box full of roast pork which was courtesy of my very friendly local butcher. I've just pulled up the first of the potatoes too so no prizes for guessing what I'm having for dinner this evening :rotfl:
I'm just about to start the process of switching allotments too so we will both have plots not only on the sane site but right next to each other :j I'm gradually running my original one down and will give that up at the end of September once I've harvested all the grapes :j in the meantime, there is some serious work required at the new one but we will get there. I've already got all the tools and bits/pieces that I need. Hoping not to have to spend any money on the new plot other than seeds which I'm going to pick up tomorrow - I want to get some cabbages in so if I start them at home now, by the time I've got space ready for them, they'll be ready to go in.
My head is absolutely chock full of so much at the mo - saving, saving and saving, work, allotmenty stuff and keeping on top of the usual household chores :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Holy moly I struggle to mow the grass and grow flowers -you are growing grapes? OMG. How inspirational is that!!!!!You do sound v busy though do rest a bit.
Well done on the roast pork and alcohol. It sounds great. Hope you are enjoying the weather.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
The process of switching allotments has begun :j :j I have got the one next to where my chickens are so I can start winding down my original plot and bring stuff from there to the new one. Goes without saying that i will be spending as little money as possible on this project! I will be buying some cabbages as plug plants as I want to get going as soon as possible but there's a sale locally to me that is selling well established ones for 25p
I also sold some concert tickets that I am not able to go to, and the money has hit my account today so I have booked in to have my hair done for the first time in 6 months. If my hair wasnt highlighted, I'd do it myself! That is my treat to me and the rest will go in the saving pot. I've also got a few quid coming to me for extra work that I have been doing so that will go in the pot too :jI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. That's nice that you could cancel and get a refund, rather than having to rebook later.
