It takes about that long for us to walk 11 miles with all of my stops included but we do it over the course of the whole day from 6am to 8pm. I just keep nudging Dad to take me out and he has a number of walks from home that take less than half an hour and cover about a mile, they keep me happy and keep his counter ticking over at the same time

I'm alright walking on the flat and can normally manage about up to two hours at a time, stopping to admire the view and taking pics as I go.
At two and a half hour my joints hurt so much I have to stop, so all my walks have to be carefully planned beforehand to make sure I don't overstretch myself.

When the weather is not called clement, I try to do at least an hour a day walking on a treadmill. I love reading and have developed a technique where I can walk and read at the same time. My current book works out at 1 chapter per kilometre.

As for the bus Duncan, you could ask your chap to take you one stop to start with until you get used to it. If you can get to the terminus, you might even be able to try getting on a bus and explore for a while and then get off before it starts up.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister.

    All my screwdrivers are cordless.

Hi just thought I'd pop by.
Weird threads going on about the... sustainability of the arms.
I'd like half a lager & a packet of pork scratching please.
I'll be over in the corner by the fire, reading, quietly.
    Thank you.

Ted told me to pop back.
    Here I am
Thought there might at least be somebody to take my coat.
I don't feel awkward at all!
Maybe I'm early. I'm always early.

This used to be the main thread for all general chat but gradually new wine bars offering good mornings and good nights greetings, and Elite tables sprang up, tempting posters away with bright lights and sparkling chat.
In addition some of the most prolific posters are no longer with us for one reason or another, and the cobwebs started to replace the regulars.

Anyway, wotcha reading? I like a mixture of fantasy and detective novels, with the odd non fiction thrown in.

It used to be that you could come on this thread at the same time each day (or night) and meet the same folk and have a good chinwag but that has all changed as well as peoples lives have changed. The members are still here but not as much or at the same regular times.
