Surely the wm is an emergency as you need to get your clothes cleaned.

That is the whole purpose of an EF, when something breaks, you have the cash to fix or replace it without having to worry.

  • Your right Patman I think it's just that I am so used to the car going that my mindset is that that is the only true emergency in that no car have to repair hire use taxis for work...no car no work no money:eek:

So yes I will replace wm, I'm just so impressed at new mindset:)

Well done everyone for all the sums you've added, big and small. Every little helps, as they say:j

Have had quite a lot of ongoing expenses recently (insurance renewals of various kinds mainly) so haven't added to my EF lately:o. I've been decluttering and selling lots of stuff (lots of very cheap items but it all adds up) and this has covered my additional expenses so I haven't needed to dip into the EF.

I even had a bit of surplus sales money:j and instead of splashing out on some more expensive food for a rare treat I've just put something into the EF at long last by doing a Tilly Tidy of £39.10. This takes me to the magic 75% mark:j.

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I'd ever manage to squirrel away £750 in savings, especially with the money-pit of my car this past year. A massive thanks to patman for starting this thread and all the great people who post on it:beer:

Top job everyone. It looks like the ef challenge is working as it should, with us all having enough money to cope with an emergency.
