  • Hi,

Looks like a NSD here today. Think am up to 3 now. Is it wrong that I want to spend some money just so I can move things around in my shiny new YNAB budget. I know it's complete novelty factor of it so who knows what I will be saying at the end of the month!

Well caught Lauralozzle in the wedding shop. Not surprised they wanted to charge that much. It prob looks like a bargain to some people considering how much the dress cost, what is a few hundred extra :eek:

Have decided I have to go to the gym today as haven't been in months. Not looking forward to the pain but paid for annual membership then had family crisis followed by tendonitis so haven't been able to take advantage of it. Think will put the pay as you go cost aside after each session I go to and see if it makes it worth my while paying again next year and if it is that will be a nice chunk of the membership saved. When I am in the habit I definitely use it and take advantage of it but need to start again.

I was looking into YNAB and when I had a look it seemed you had to connect it to your bank account? Is that right? Would rather not do that for security reasons. Is there a British version or is the American version all there is?

    Thanks

  • NSD 4/5 today - Going back through the past month's bank statements most of our unnecessary expenditure comes from snacking out / buying food on the go rather than being prepared and big bills from supermarket shopping in tesc0. We're making a conscious effort to take our lunches to work and shop in A1di instead. It's shocking looking back through the statement and realising how much we've spent just because we've been a bit lazy!

On a happier note our Save The Date's have arrived so we'll spend the evening writing those out - I'll count that as me time because I'll find it relaxing.

Have managed to have another SFD now at 3/18.
Managed to go walking today so got some exercise.
Read some of my book for me time.
Went for an interview for temp admin in the office for a school. Got offered the position and start tomorrow. It is ongoing until further notice. I have things in to make and take lunch tomorrow. Also have things to make my Mum's lunch. Will also be making a flask of tea for each of us. Always put my Mum's lunch things close to her where she sits in the living room along with the tv remote and cordless phone.

  • Hi everyone
Today was a bit of a shocker. One of my classes have come back with the most terrible attitude I've seen in a long time. It's only Day 1.
On the brighter side... bagged another nsd and a good healthy eating day.
Mindfulness is working well so far and sleep has been better the past couple of nights.
Cleaner has been and house looking lovely tonight when I got home.
Less happy about dd being sent home from school for not wearing leather shoes - they are suede.

    Evening all :D

Survived my first day back only just as so tired! Stupidly forgot to book the day of and by the time I realised I had a meeting booked I couldn't get off :(

I am budgeting £120 for food and household for the month. That is for me and also breakfast and toiletries for airbnb guests. Was doing protein shakes so freezer empty of hm ready meals. fridge only had apples, oranges and onions when i got back from holiday and cupboard only has a few staples so i need a good stock up and batch cooking session!

Spent £10 on taxi home yest (from holiday budget) and £10.50 in tesco express on stuff to last until weekend. so no NSD.

Today I have not spent anything expect paying cattery. not counting that as it was saved from my holiday funds and I couldn't choose when I paid it. had a cuddle and cat is now off galivanting, doubt i will see him for a few hours whilst he goes off to fight every other cat in sight :(

Paid off my cc i was using for holiday spends. had £623 left in account so just sent that off to my cc with biggest balance.

done some calculations and will be debt free by dec 18 as long as stay on target (need to earn £500 average per month airbnb). also allows me a generous socialising and v generous holiday budget :o

Need to remortgage by next dec and its likely they will want cards cleared. need to clear car loan before applying as its deducted from salary and i know they don't like salary deductions. the big card interest free ends in sept as well so need to ensure i am on track to avoid paying interest.

    Hi,
    Check-in 5/30
Not a SFD, but really not doing badly considering we are on holiday. All spends have been small & have come from our properly budgeted pots of money. Will eat out tonight (pub) as it's raining too hard to cook outside the tent, but we have a food budget cash bag with us & will use that.
    Best scrimp today:
*Buying a couple of filled rolls from campsite shop, adding crisps, juice & home made biscuits brought from home & thus avoiding lunch at National Trust Cafe. My cob £1.60. Similar cob £3.75. Glad we factored in an extra 5 mins to pop to shop before we went out.
Exercise goal - Yes. Am over my target of 7000 steps a day. Almost at 10,000 so far & a bit more walking still to do.
    Cheers all,

  • No spends again :D managed to get a 30 mins walk in today but still haven't got round to the yoga yet....

Quick query....does filling up with petrol count as a spend if it's a work related thing? I have an appointment tomorrow which will require a fill up- I pay it then it's reimbursed at the end of the month so I'm not sure whether it counts!! :o

Thanks everyone, I know, extra £250 for me! That's pretty much the cake!

Today has been spendy - I succumbed to the vending machine at work at got a can of Dr Pepper. No more now though as I don't want it to become a habit. So £0.70 and then I spent £1.80 on two cans of custard as we'd ran out and there is a lot of fruit crumble to finish.

I think I'll live without the face pads until I go shopping at the weekend so I can get cheaper ones.

Having a dinner from the freezer tonight - chicken nuggets, chips and baked beans. Proper five year old meal haha!

I have reached 10,000 steps again today though which is good - always feel better when I've hit my 10,000 step count.
    February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
