That's odd as we did negotiate the price of our new house, successfully.

Its a while since we bought a new house, maybe its more common on brand new houses now. I suppose it depends on region and demand too.

there maybe more arriving, but the other dealers ive looked at are selling them at £12995.

this dealer told me they had bought only 10 to sell at this price.

they had already sold one before I visited. they have now sold a further 4 in about a week.

so someone isn't worried its a SEAT.

I was just lucky the dealer was within my "distance I'm prepared to drive to look at a car" range.

There's almost always room for negotiation.

In norn Ireland I thought housing often doubled and halved in value within a few hours anyway!

i thought by posting the deal hear i was helping people. i could have just gone and bought the car and not said anything about it. i was asking people to mention where they saw the post so as to get some browny point with the dealer, never know maybe he'll give me some matts? there again probably not.

In fairness, this is a budget car that isnt that great dynamically.

Whilst there is a Skoda equivalent, there is no Audi or VW variant.

If you're just looking a car to take you from a to b, its a good price given its brand new and a 3 year warranty.

the clossest VW equivalents are the Jetta and Polo. same chassis.

Hasn't the Jetta always been (and the Bora too between the Jettas) a saloon version of the Golf?

I suspect the Toledo is close in DNA to the Audi A1.

The Toledo is a saloon, which I thought was similar size to the Leon which would be the A3 and Octavia platform,
