The whimsical tale of the Waterbed of Debt

Ooooh so close....so very close.

So I've decided it is time to move on to the next chapter.

The whimsical tale of the waterbed of debt is a metaphor for my debts. In a few days time (when I'm back from Milan - how appropriate!) I shall start detailing how my debts have gone down a little and my mortgage is doing quite nicely but how pushing down too enthusiastically can result in other bits popping up.

This is the story of how difficult I find it to cut down on all areas and not to suffer rebound in other areas. Keep having acid reflux in yoga too!

It will also have a bit of psychobabble.

.....and a bit of whimsy.

BUT FIRST :T ironing in preparation for Milan. A trip which has free travel :j and free accommodation :j . I just need to remember not to strangle my friend after four days if she is catastrophising too much or generating too many black and white arguments.

And so ....to the ironing :D

    Well I think today should start with getting a grip on what my debts actually are and planning for what we are doing to bring them down with the mortguage. £400 in mileage this month so that will need to go somewhere NON-fluffy.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    If you look at the signature strip you will see that 3 years ago my credit card debt was £19 more than it is now. £6.33 a year. Really good. :beer: (yes maybe that's the problem)

    Mortgage £ 64749
    I have nearly paid off 30% in just over 3 years :T

    Credit cards :(
    Barclaycard £4656 @0%
    Halifax £1574 @22%
    Santander £ 314 @0%
    Tesco £1227 @21%

    Total £7771

    So looking at the above. I think I should throw my mileage payment and my lack of car loan payment at the Halifax card.

    I'm hoping Santander may throw an offer in my direction in the next month and I will transfer.

    Going to sit and do half an hour of meditation and then go to the pub (because clearly I never learn!) They have cans in at the moment that you can colour in and I like colouring it......that's enough reason isn't it?

    I am following a course called the 'FIRST AID KIT' by a guy called Richard Grannon. He is an NLP practitioner specialising in narcissism and cluster B personalities. The half hour meditation and the course aims to repeat positive messages to my subconscious in areas where I am weak. For me this could be described as being able to say no, being able to do conflict without emotion and being allowed to express anger. So basically, you work at building up those areas where you are vulnerable.

    Milan was fun :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    I'll tell you about it another day. An example of another person who likes to burn their bridges! I forsee an arguement with that friend where she tries to persuade us that she is right and we are wrong / her needs are greater than ours / she's a star and our job as planets are to revolve around her. I'm quite looking forward to it actually because all the above are irrelevant if she hasn't fully cracked getting on an aeroplane without her friends, her friends that she has just really really p***ed off!

    So £600 paid off Halifax today. Tomorrow will check out if I can transfer the rest to 0% on a Barclaycard offer. Mortgage comes out on 20th so shall see what has happened to the amount of interest then.
