    .....25/11/2018 ......
I have decided to update as its been ages since I started this thread and so much has changed including my priorities.....

We gained a puppy after starting this thread and although she is a handful she has given me something to focus on and to get up for each day.

DS split from one long-term gf and is now several months into a new relationship and started a new job and seems very happy.

Sadly DM passed away suddenly this year and I miss her every day. Then DF was seriously ill in hospital with sepsis and almost died but thankfully he found the strength to pull through and is making a full recovery physically. We are supporting one another emotionally as a family.

I started this thread with the focus on saving some money. That hasn't happened and I have ended up with some debt on a 0% credit card but it is being paid off as planned and I am still managing to pay all bills and still have some money to spend with friends. I am planning to start saving for an emergency fund in the new year 2019.

    Payday

Went shopping after work & got enough for 2 weeks dinners & 1 weeks breakfasts & lunches 40.40 I will just need milk & lunch / sandwich stuff & bananas / fruit / yoghurt in week 2. Weekly budget 25 so should be within 50 for 2 weeks. I bought a few nice meals for weekend takeaway cravings including pizza, ribs, chicken wings to make spicy wings with some buffalo wing sauce in cupboard & a nice curry. Also included toilet rolls, dishcloths, toothbrushes, shampoo & tea bags.

Too hot to walk puppy dog but it has been getting cooler around 5pm so I will take her out then. I will do my soa later on my laptop it's too fiddly on my phone

I phoned virgin media today as I have been paying 51 a month for TV, broadband, line rental, Tivo box. HD+ box, free weekend calls to landlines. My latest bill showed 54 so I phoned them and was told it had gone up, but I said I haven't had a letter or email. They offered me 51 for 6 months then 54, but after a bit of haggling I got 30 cashback as part of a new deal. I was quite pleased with that so signed up for another 12 months. So they said that's 54 for September, 16.95 in October, then 50.50 for another 4 months, then 53.50 a month.

    old rate 51 x 12 = 612
    increase 54 x 12 = 648
    new deal 54 + 16.95 + (4x 50.50) + (53.50 x 6) = 593

Spent Sunday hoovering dog room, mopping kitchen floor & scrubbing patio after walking dog. It's come really cloudy and cold this afternoon. I walked pupoy dog with jeans, fleece jacket & new walking shoes on.

I put the joint of pork bought from aldi into the slow cooker, then shredded it. I had some with steamed potatoes, broccoli & carrots & gravy and the last of the apple sauce from my freezer (made by DM ) it was lovely. There should be enough left for a couple of dinners and a couple of rolls / wraps.

    Decluttering w/e sun 1 sept week 35

4 medicine bottles removed from bedroom washed & to bottle bank for recycling
Empty pill boxes from bedroom into recycling

Have been feeling poorly all week with a sore throat and ear ache so not much done apart from work, dog walk & sleeping.

Saturday I walked the dog, hung out towels to dry outside, hoovered, cleaned bathroom & kitchen then had 8 friends round for pamper day. It was supposed to be at one of the other girls houses but her husband was ill so I was the only one who could step in at short notice. The therapist came and I had a massage and facial 20 from entertainment budget. it was lovely and so relaxing, especially after all that cleaning ! Everyone brought food & drinks and I had bought a quiche and chocolate brownies and a bottle of strawberry lambrini 6.85 from entertainment budget. The dog went into her pen so she couldn't jump on everyone as she gets so excited lol. I put throws over the sofas and arm chairs in the kitchen for everyone to sit on, and we set up the therapists folding massage table in the living room.

I have spoken to the therapist and she is going to come to my home once a month from now onwards just for me, so I can have a monthly massage on my neck and shoulders to help my back and neck pain. So I will factor 20 spend into my budget from now onwards.

In the evening my DS's friends dog came for a sleepover. Thankfully the dog gets on really well with our dog and she soon put him in his place when he tried to get amorous with her (She has been spayed so thankfully no chances of little puppies !!) They slept quietly all night. He is coming to stay for 2 weeks later this month & DS is off work so will be looking after & walking both of them.

Today DS's gf fed the dogs at 6am before she went to work and DS walked the dogs at 9 so I had a lie in. I've done 2 loads of washing & tidied the bathroom cupboard to put away the towels from yesterday.

    Decluttering w/e Sunday 8 Sept week 36

1 medicine bottle from upstairs & 4 empty wine bottles downstairs - washed & bagged up for recycling. 2 boxes into recycling. 1 old face cloth brought downstairs & now under kitchen sink for cleaning. 2 old washbags no longer used & bit grubby - binned.

Oh no I am so sorry you haven't been well.

I am glad you had the pamper party but I bet you were tired after all that work. I would have been shattered just after all the cleaning.

This massage sounds great I bet its really relaxing. The dog sleepover sounds marvellous I reckon you have a very lucky dog!!!! Lol to her sorting out the Romeo!!!

I cannot believe that you decluttered after such a tough week and busy weekend. OMG when do you rest????? Good luck next week.

Hi Skint yet Again, your pampering party sounds lovely. I've never had a massage, but I would love to try it one day.

Well done on the decluttering. That's one of my focuses at the moment, so that I can move without too much junk to deal with.

Decluttering is an ongoing process I don't think we will ever be clutter free but I am managing to not let it build up.

Went to cashpoint after work and then to co-op as I need some change for a work collection. Bought a pack of leeks half price 56p and a shepherds pie half price 1.42. Have just had it for tea with leek and some green beans my friend gave me on Saturday from her allotment.

It's been raining all afternoon. I took the dog for a walk when it eased off. Good news my new dog walking shoes are actually waterproof
    It's dark already, it's only 7.30pm !!

I heard from asda tyres today from the claim I made back in May. The tyre cost 47.99 and they are refunding 39.84. There is a small deduction for wear and tear as I had it for just under a year before it started to perish. I bought 4 tyres at same time but only 1 had a problem. It was legal and not dangerous but needed replacing in May after less than a year. I will put the money in my car fund once it arrives in my bank account this week.

Had a bit of a spendy day today. I went into town after work and collected my glasses, will try them over next few days. Cost 0
Had lunch in KFC, mini fillet burger, 2 hot wings & fries 1.99 paid from entertainment budget. Then got a no-loss bristle paint brush for decorating 3, a black printer ink cartridge 10 and a new kitchen clock silver with white face & silver numbers & hands bargain 6. When I got to the till the printer ink was reduced by 2.50 so the bill was only 16.50 paid from household bills budget.

On the way home I called at tesco for Pepsi max 24 cans 5. Also got a frozen sweet & sour chicken 69p & frozen lasagne 69p all paid from food budget.

Got home and walked dog. We went over fields to pets at home and got some pedigree gravy bones biscuits 1.20. Found 20p on floor.

Yum to nice food bargains. You may have had a spendy day but you bought things you needed. 1.99 for a KFC is amazing.

It is great when you find money. We are almost half way through the week. Hurrah.

Hi SW I think the KFC is called a "fill up lunch" it doesn't include a drink but is a good price for the food

Rubbish day at work today at least it's almost the weekend. I have just ordered flowers for someone off work due to bereavement 30 on my credit card. I have collection money of 26 in pound coins ! Plus my contribution 4. I doubt I will get to the bank so I will use the pound coins for food and transfer 26 from my food budget and 4 from birthdays/Xmas account to pay off the credit card purchase.

Was so fed up I bought chocolate in co-op when I popped in for milk must get some willpower ! Nice weather forecast for weekend it's been quite cold at times this week.

I went shopping on Monday and spent 32.96 in aldi including 2 packs of batteries 3 and clothes washing liquid. My budget is 25 a week and some of the stuff I bought will last both the remaining 2 weeks before payday, so I have 17.04 left for milk, fruit etc next week.

I have just paid 50 off my 0% credit card and will update my signature once the statement updates online.

On Friday I am having my hair done Cut, base colour & foils will be 42 paid from bills account monthly savings. I have it done approx. every 2 months so around 21 a month.

We are dog sitting for the next 2 weeks so we have 2 dogs at home now ! They are both well behaved together so shouldn't be too much trouble !!

I am hoping to do something nice at the weekend even though I don't have any money left in the entertainment budget. DS & gf are taking the dogs to the woods so I wont be dog walking and need to think of something cheap & cheerful to do.

I also want to deep clean my bedroom & wash my winter quilt on Saturday as its meant to be quite a hot day it should dry on the line and then be freshened up and ready to put on the bed when the weather turns cold again.
