    Car
Last Friday we took the car for the MOT and it failed. Called the garage who had just done the service and told him what it failed on, he needed to order a new part which wouldn't be in until Tuesday. Tuesday we put the bikes in the boot and took the car to the garage then cycled home, only took 35 mins so was pleased about that. Wed afternoon we were able to collect the car, so we cycled back to the garage to collect the car, saving us bus fare and was good for the fitness. The car this time cost us another 70 odd € for the part and labour. We took the car back to the MOT and only needed the part that it failed on re-tested, it passed. would have been annoyed if it hadn't, this re-test cost us 12€. since the car mot and repairs funds were now empty we had to take the money from the new car pot. :(

    Work

We have been off work this week for co #1, we still had to do work for co #2 as we were unable to get the time off for this work, it was only 2 1/4 hrs work this week, so not too bad.

    Vets

Our cat had to go to the vets for her yearly injections, we walked to the vets with her in her carrier bag, she was given the good once over and nothing wrong with her :) this cosy us 55€, the money came out of the pets pot and there is still plenty left in there.

    City Hall

For the last few months I have been in the process of getting together all the paperwork needed to change my nationality, on Friday I finally gave the last piece of paperwork in and paid the fee of 150€ for the nationality change. It should take about 4 months for this to all be processed and then I will no longer be a Brit.

    Bank

Will be back later with an update about the bank this week.

Still waiting to hear from the Houseing association, OH called them on the 2nd and was told that we should hear in the week, we didn't so will call again on Monday or Tuesday.

Mortgage payment has gone out with the increased payment. We have also had to pay adjusted life insurance for this year due to the change in mortgage.

Work hours have been email to both co #1 for this week and co #2 for last week and this week.

Today we put the heating on for about an hour this morning as it was so cold, after the hour we turned it back off as it was warm enough and it has been off for the rest of the day.

Still need to book vacation days for Nov/Dec, had to check exactly how many days we have left, if we don't take all the days then we have to pay back the vacation fund. (We get all the holiday pay in 1 payment about May time)

Still not heard from the Houseing association, OH called them again Tuesday, we were told what the delay was with them contacting us. OH asked them if they could just tell us over the phone what the quote for the work was. The total cost for the work will be 3400€ and they have said they will pay half of that. We still need to wait for it in writing, the delay is from the Housing Associations solicitor, aparantly it all has to be written in legal jargon. We did get an email from them telling us it had now been sent out in the post, friday was a postal strike here so hoping it will be here Monday now.

Need to email work hours to both co #1 and co #2 for this week.

Since we put the heating on, it has been on most days, it is set on a timer and comes on when we are due home from work. There have been a few days where we have turned it back off once we were home. I have adjusted some of the times that it comes on and goes back off.

We have now booked vacation days for Nov/Dec, waiting for confirmation now for these days. We have had to wait right up until the last few days for confirmation before, as the job we do needs to be covered by someone else and they always seem to wait till the last week to arrange cover.

Payment have been made to the UK debts, hoping to get a nice bonus amount this year, so depending on how much that is I will be sending most of it to pay off some UK debts.

Received the letter from the Housing Association, it wasn't clear how many of the rooms were having the soundblocking done on the walls, we are now just waiting to hear from them about that, one of the walls has a radiaior on it which hasn't been accounted for. The total cost for the wall and work and moving of electrics is for 3500€ of which we will pay half and the Housing Association will pay the other half as a goodwill gesture.

The heating has been on and off since my last post, some days it just wasn't needed. :)

Still not heard from work about Nov/ Dec vacation days.

Since it's school vacation here, we have been able to change our evening work hrs and do them anytime of the day. We have been doing them mid afternoon.

Payment of £5 has gone out to the UK debts.

Mortgage payment has gone out at the new payment amount.

Off to work now in about 5 mins.

Last month we came in under budget for shopping by 79.13€.

I have started a catagory on YNAB to save this money and will use it for any catagorys that are under budget when the bills come it.
Before I spoke to the bank and changed my monthly payment to include O/P I was saving the O/P money until I had spoken to the bank, there was more then 600€ sitting in there, I have been adding to it the last month or 2 and we now have 1073.57€.

Heating is still on part time, hoping that it can stay like that for a bit longer and that it doesn't get too cold that we have to have it on all day when we are home.

Today was a Public Holiday and almost all the shops were closed, so today was a NSD, also meant I didn't have to work today, I love these paid days off.

Yesterday payslips for both co's 1 and 2 arrived so I was able to see what we had paid in taxes and put some money aside to cover what wasn't paid.

Finally had contact with the Housing Association about how many rooms were included in the quote for sound block and there was the living room/ dining room and 2 bedrooms, it was agreed that the 2nd bedroom wasn't needed as we don't hear so much noise in that room and since we don't use it to sleep in it much it wasn't so important, the Housing Association will deduct the cost of the room off the price.:)
We have given dates that we will either be home after work or be at home from work for the whole day so that they can either do the work then or will have to work round our work hrs.

Heating has been on and off most days. It is needed when we get up for work at 4.50 am and is on until 5.40am and then again when we are home in the evening. The times that we are home in the day the heating has been put on for a short blast and then turned off again.

Some money has been paid to the UK debts, so that another £15 less that I owe to them.

This week is a short work week for OH and I as we have fri and sat off this week and then off next week until Thursday, so next week will be such a short week with only working thurs, fri and sat.:j
Work finally sent back my holiday confirmation, last holiday we didn't even receive it so wasn't too worried about not receiving it as I would have taken the time off no matter what.

Have had the cost of how much our share of the soundbloc will be, it was due to be 1750€ but with the 2nd bedroom not being done it will now cost us 1483€ for our share. We have a meeting with the Housing assosiation on Monday morning at out house, no time given yet.

This morning we received the car tax bill of 226.12€ which I have paid straight away evn though it wasn't due till Jan 16, wanted to get it paid so I didn't forget.

Home for a short while from work between shifts, Wed we are able to do the 2nd shift anytime after middag, so will go to work for then so can be home from the afternoon and not have to go back out again.:)
