That's a good demotivator. It's good to know how many hours you sat at your desk, or had your hands in a car engine, or folded items someone had thrown on the floor etc in order to own a particular object or to keep that object each month.

I also break payments down into how much I'll get to use something. So if you buy something for £10 (lets say a pair of gloves), the first time you wear them it cost you £10. Next time, they both actually cost £5 etc. That's the same on gym membership based on how many times you went in the month to how much the membership price is. I think it's always good to be clear on actual costs.

I worked out once how much I spend to work in London and it's a lot of money.

SJ, theoretically I would say its anyone who can retire before the Government says so! I have no idea right now where I stand with retirement plans etc, I am saving a little but mostly OPing the mortgage...

Oh MT I like that! So I paid £47 for my new trainers (from the indirect sports shop! Also they have memory foam insoles for my poor feet), therefore the more I walk the better the investment! Motivation! London just screams owie with money things! Amazing place though!

Sent £40 over to the mortgage, getting paid earlier than usual with the bank hols, so rounded the account down to the nearest hundred before I send some money over tomorrow!

Pay day is here and I am excited to do the money shuffle, making myself wait though or it happens too quickly! Does anyone else do that? Or is it just me! Not sure how long I will hold off for...

    Hi Jodles,
Does the money shuffle look anything like this?:
    Banane21.gif

I can't wait long. I'll often prepare it all a few days beforehand. I've tried to hold off creating my April budget in YNAB, but did it on Monday!!!!! So impatient!!

Haha it actually does look like that! Amazing! Well the deed has been done, your right MT as my wage is fixed I already know what I am getting and where it needs to go, so not as exciting as it could be!haha. No money leaves the house account until the 1st of April so it looks like I have lots of money right now! Managed some good savings (just over £200) with what is left as well. Also sent another £7.50 over to the mortgage!

Did 4.8miles today with the new trainers, the insoles helped the balls of my feet which were sore and with a plaster by blister survived! Thinking like MT my trainers are now worth £9.79 a mile!!

Thanks ETE, on the ERE list I think walking is the free hobby part, obviously shoes cost but if I get good wear from them then they will be neutral hopefully! Went out and did 2.7miles yesterday and the new shoes caused a massive blister on my left heel which popped and bled when we were walking, so freaking annoying. Hubby went out with trainers that done quite fit and no socks and his feet were fine! My feet obviously fail! Probably wont go for a proper walk today, mostly because my heels are sore!

Off out to do some pottering and might go see my mum while hubby goes to archery (he has joined the club) then go and look in Mataland as we have vouchers! Got my dad and step mum coming round for lunch tomorrow, so nervous! I am a bad/uninterested cook and my step mum is amazing!
