Well, it looks like I won't be able to OP for some time as I've got to lend my DS1 £2K as him and his mates are moving and they need to give the new letting agents/landlord £10K upfront  This is about 6 months rent plus deposit. They've got most of it but are a bit short. He said he'll pay me back but it'll take a long time.

So within the space of 5 months I'm £4K down  Having had to buy 3 kitchen appliances and now this has seriously dented my savings.

I only needed to lend DS1 £800 in the end (only, she says ). So have managed to make my first OP of the year of £600 :j They've now fixed it for me to OP online rather than go into a branch or phone them and it will come off the term not the interest :T Minimum I have to OP for a month to come off is £434.80.

Wasn't going to get tickets for The Darkness in Dec, but had a look on Ticketmaster to see if they had sold out, they hadn't so I got 2...

Haven't had sugar for the whole of March and I have lost 8lbs :j:j I'm going to try to keep it up. This seems to be the only way I can lose weight these days.

Not a lot of OPing action lately. but lots of money has been going out on stuff for the kids. School trips to the theatre, yearbooks, new clothes...

Well last month I lost 8lbs by not eating sugar, and this month I've still been sugar free and have a lost... 0lbs :( Not a single ounce!! So I had half an Easter Egg last night and a couple of mini eggs today.

Nothing OP'd for ages. It seems like my spare money has dried up :(

Well, Friday was our 10th Anniversary and in our traditional way the presents were meant to cost £10. I bought a tin camping mug (tin is 10 years) and my DH bought me an eternity ring :j NOT £10 But I don't mind :D

We went out for dinner and a comedy show at our local comedy venue. There were 3 comedians and the compere. Charlie Baker, Mark Nelson, Marcel Lucont and Lloyd Griffith.

There were some stag do hecklers in but they were put in their place perfectly by the comedians. Marcel Lucont was very funny!! Never heard of him before but would definitely see him again.

I've got a really busy (and expensive) month ~ cake decorating fair and a party on Saturday, Baywatch next Tuesday, Adam Ant on Thursday, BBQ party for 4 yo niece the following Sunday.

Then nothing for ages!!! Apart from DDs birthday in June, DS2s birthday in July, Mamma Mia in August, Gorillaz and Russell Brand in Nov, finishing off the year with the Darkness in Dec  Phew!!!

Hoping there are no more surprise gigs, etc coming up. Now I see why I have no spare money :rotfl:

Just made an OP of £500. This is the first time I have made it through my online account. Previously I've rung them up or paid at a branch. They promised me it would come off the capital, so I shall have to wait for the letter and see if this is true.

Finally, my busy month of May is over and i can relax a bit. Not much happening this month. Hosp app next Saturday for a camera op  DD's birthday is coming up. That is pretty much it.

:o I bought tickets for Matt Lucas last week

Hey purple vamp! How’s it all going?

    Hi Kittenkirst

Not as well as I'd hoped. Money has been really tight for some reason or another (kids, gigs, etc) so I haven't been able to make many OPs this year. I think I can just about manage 1 more before the end of the year but will have to wait until after 25th, or whenever they take my next payment out, probably 27th.

So, this year I have seen Adam Ant, Russell Brand, The Dakrness, Gorillaz, Matt Lucas, The Exorcist (on stage), and have bought tickets for Steel Panther in January and Hamilton in March. These are the "cheap seats" and are a Christmas present for my DD who is desperate to see it. Normally the seats are £200 a pop in the stalls but I got these for £57-£75 each in the Royal Box. Still a massive chunk of money but there's no way she'd see it otherwise.

I need to start making more money for next year. And seriously get my mortgage down.

How's yours coming along? Are you making any dents in it? This time of year is a nightmare for saving anyway. I'm so behind too. Just came back from last minute shopping and still need to go out tomorrow after work.

Hope you have a fantastic Christmas :xmastree::santa2: xx

My NYRs for 2017 are (in no particular order)
      Lose weight (this one is
always on the list :o) DID NOT ACHIEVE :o
Declutter and put on ebay, amazon, charity or bin
    NOT TOTALLY :o
      Spend less, save more
    ISH
Move more!! (I have a fitbit but don't take any notice of it! :o)
    DID NOT ACHIEVE :o
      Get more sleep!!
    DID NOT ACHIEVE:o
Keep on top of emails (currently have 5K on hotmail and 700 on aol)
    DID NOT ACHIEVE :o
Enter more comps again (I used to enter loads and win lots but haven't entered many for a long time)
SORT OF BUT COULD DO BETTER
      And obviously overpay the mortgage!!
A BIT, BUT NOT ENOUGH

    So none were really achieved.

    This year I plan to:-
      Lose weight (
    again!! )
Declutter and put on ebay, amazon, charity or bin
      Spend less, save more
      Move more!!
      Get more sleep!!
      Keep on top of emails
      Enter more comps again
Do more surveys and make money
And overpay the mortgage by at least £2,500!!

I had a computer for Christmas which is a lot faster than my previous one which used to [STRIKE]slow down[/STRIKE] stop on a regular basis for at least 10 minutes each time, about 20 times a day. I put this down to why I couldn't do half of what I wanted as it was so frustrating

Happy New Year to everyone and may you all achieve your goals _party_:dance::beer:

Seriously??!!!  2 years??!!!  What have I been doing with myself  :p

Well, not overpaying the mortgage, that's for sure.  DH has lost his job, he's started his own business painting nerdy miniatures for people all over the world and is doing ok with it, but it's nowhere near what he was getting in his previous job.  Our car is virtually on its last legs so yesterday we bought a new one.  £1,250  :#.

My hours can't increase either.  I'm still trying to flog all my old stuff on ebay and Amazon and have put some things on etsy as they are really old!  Doing ok with ebay but it could be better.

I have actually managed to lose over 2 stone since my last post   :D yay for me.

And I'm still going to all the gigs going.  Unfortunately the one I really wanted to go to (My Chemical Romance) was way out of my price range.  When I tried to get tickets the only ones left were over £100  :'(:'(

I've just checked my bank balance and realised there's no council tax t pay for 2 months, happy me!!

Hope everyone is managing to make better dents in their mortgage than me.

PS.  I still hate the new layout ~ not user friendly, or at least not purplevamp friendly!!  xxx
