PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5 28th Feb 12 at 3:40 PM

Hi all, this thread is for discussing the
    PPI Reclaiming
    article.

This is Part 5 of the discussion, as the last one was so long (read parts one, two, three and four). To discuss or ask a question about this article, click 'post reply'.

To read about non FOS claims read this thread.
Report and read success stories in this thread
    .

    Please remember:

We're often quite laid back about discussion threads as this is a community after all.

I'm afraid in the case of the PPI Reclaiming thread we're really going to have to ask you to keep the discussion on topic though, so that people can find the relevant information quickly and easily.

If you do start making like-minded friends on here and would like to carry on chatting about what you did at the weekend/what you ate for dinner etc, that's fine, but the best way to do that is to go to our local pub the MoneySavers Arms where anything and everything is chatted about, start a thread there, then pop a link in here and suggest you all head over to there to chat.

    Thanks,

    MSE Rose

I would put in a query to each of the big banks and specify you want them to autoconvert the query to a complaint if PPI is found

You either simply complain from the off or hope that the query is converted into a complaint.

Potential complainants should note that it is not somehow wrong simply to have insurance. In order for the PPI to be definitely refunded, it must be shown to be mis-sold.

Just over three hours from now, it will all be over.

(Yes, obviously I know what you mean is that it makes no difference to the bank, but it can't hurt to be particular about it either.)

    Nissan car finance PPI
I contacted Nissan Finance weeks ago to request details of the car finance I took out with them in 2002. I definitely had PPI added on to this. Nissan replied that they do not keep paperwork for finance this far back and could not help further so stopped dead my intention to claim and were of no help. Other PPI claim agencies said that they could not help me claim on car finance, only banks. Is this really the case and would I have had a claim without paperwork? I know that I have passed the deadline now unfortunately.

If it was sold by a dealer, then it's pre regulation.

You've fortunate the claims companies turned you down.

Car dealers were not regulated until Jan 2005. So, you predate that anyway.

Other PPI claim agencies said that they could not help me claim on car finance, only banks.
This is because of the limited window that car dealers could have potentially missold PPI and the difficulty in finding out which car dealer it is.
