Second time lucky... debt free diary. 7th Apr 17 at 1:13 PM
Good afternoon all. As title says, this is my second time here. I started a few years ago, debt started to go down. Then DH was made redundant! He refused to sign on and we lived from the credit cards (think he was suffering depression). I have major mental health issues but went back to work almost 2 years ago but we were scraping by while dh tried self employed (something I desperately didn't want him to do).

In February he started a part time, temp job but has been working full time hours and looks like he could be staying at least for now.

I've been off work for a month as I have something growing on my ear drum, vertigo is now under control, still waiting for hospital appointment but...

From Friday we should have 2 full time wages coming in!!

Cards have been removedso we cant rely on them and ive got my lists ready. I'm dreading posting this but here goes...

Loan: 414 last payment this month!
CC1: 830 min payment 25 on 5% for life rate
    CC2: 6987 0% till Jan 18
    CC3: 3185 0% till june 17
    CC4: 9035 0% till july 17 on 830 the rest 0%till sep 17
    CC5: 8816 think it's 0% for 18 months

    Total: 29267

We have also had a sofa. payments don't start until its delivered. Ours had collapsed and we are currently on beanbags. We have had a nice one to hopefully last. The payments on that are 90 a month 0% for 4 years. so im going to add the 4287 (I think the insurance cost more than 1 chair) to the starting total.

    Total: 33554

I don't know how long it'll take to be debt free but my aim for now is just seeing it go down not up. Thank you for reading if you've made it all the way to the end.

4th post today! I've just gone through the freezers and I think we have at least 10 'meats for meals' going to try and use everything up. Will just need veg/potatoes to go with it. Although the mince and chicken were frozen from fresh with july dates on them, not sure how long they last in freezer. DH may use bits in a morning too as he makes a meal when he comes in.

Going to try and make a list for each cupboard and use up as lots of things already past dates (packet mixes/jars etc.) And then start fresh.

Right better go check dinner and get the 3 little ones in the shower ready for school tomorrow.

Sometimes I feel like I post too much on my diary as well, but I feel like I have to tell someone something and it ends up on my diary!

Also I love my slow cooker but I tend to use when I am out as otherwise I am starving most of the day because of the smell.

Well done on doing a freezer audit, that's something I need to do desperately. Although it is good when you go through the freezer and you realise you don't need much.

Thank you mumoffour. Cant believe we had 4 open bags of sausages! 42 left altogether.

Today a CC payment has come out for 85. The balance transfer from last week has gone through and we are down to just 4 debts at the moment (may have to do a BT in Oct) All over payments will be going to the tesco CC as i cant find out when the 0% ends. I think it may be october the same as the MBNA.

I have caved today! The girls are booked into a trial gym class tonight at 1.50 each. It will be 10 a month each if they like it. Seeing the determination and stress on DD2 when she cant do something it will be worth it. She spends hours watching gymnastics videos on youtube and has taught herself so many things already but for her own safety, she needs proper help with some things (shes already smashed her head off the wood floor doing 'crab').

DH fetched 2 bottles of c@lpol as pharmacy wasn't open when he finished this morning so 6 out of the grocery budget on that.

I'm at work this afternoon so shouldn't be any more spending. Going to get DD into the doctors, it's definitely tonsillitis/strep throat. Not sure if she will have to pay for prescription though? She's 16 now but still in full time education.

Well, i did think about not posting the rest of yesterdays spending, but thought that defeats the object of the diary to keep me on track!

So i spent 36 on gymnastic's clothes for the girls and some throat stuff for DD1. Then 20 on their enrolment fees. All came out of the children/entertainment account. They absolutely loved it though and i've not seen them that giddy when i got home for a long time (i was at work and missed it all).

When i got to work they came to find me to say that a game DD1 had been going in for, daily, was back in stock. There was only 1 if she wanted it. With her being poorly, i fetched it, must remember she owes me 22.

I seem in a right ratty tired mood, shouted at DH for having 2 fish fillets on his dinner and the a mountain of sweet potato wedges and a whole tin of mushy peas(i could just see that that could have been 2 meals).

I'm at work in a couple of hours so today should be a NSD. 66 DD has come out for the CC so need to update that. I might try to do some baking with DS before i go.

Thank you Chrystal. (I bet DH hopes so too, that's not the only time I've snapped at him in the last 2 days).

Baked some muffins with DS. Taking them out of the oven they were burning through the towel don't know what on earth possessed me to grab it with the other hand to stop it burning! I now have 6 bright red fingers!

At least pudding is now sorted.

Just a quick post. DH has taken DS2 to look at the allotments and I'm supposed to be trying to sleep for an hour before work.

DD2 has been to doctors this morning, it is tonsillitis. She's had to go into college this afternoon looking like really ill as she has controlled assessments.

Call to fetch her prescription and spent 10.80 on meds. About 15 on shopping, 2 birthday cards, bread and fruit and lunch box bits (need to find reciept) and 2.25 on 2 tins of chocs that we really didn't need.

    Thank you Wannabe.

DH has thrown the receipt from yesterday so going to update the grocery at 16, i don't think that's far off. DD1 has had 3 today for lunch and i've paid DD2 school trip in full. So there goes my next NSD.

I've changed my shift tomorrow and working 6-12 so will need bus fare if DD is at placement. Not sure if she can go yet or if she still counts as 'infectious' as she works with babies. If not, i can use her bus card.

Not really much else to update, banks haven't changed. No debt payments made today.

Had a scare last night. Went on my break to lots of messages and posts i had been tagged in on f@cebook. A cat had been knocked down and killed a few doors up from ours. She was identical to our little girl! DH had a knock at the door and messages from family, he went with a torch and fetched her in, once in the light he realised she was a lot bigger and then DD1 shouted our cat was laid on DD bed.
He had quickly sent me a message to say it wasn't her before i saw all the posts i had been tagged in.
She was scanned and no chip found so this morning she has gone to the vets in the hope her owners find her.

Right i really should sort some of this tip... Need to find where my energy is hiding first!

I love your targets, I think I need to sort some of these out for myself. One is definitely going to be weight loss though.

How awful for you to check all those messages about the cat but good news it wasn't your cat. But sad news that it was someone else's cat. I lived by a main road in England and had four cats that were fine. Moved to the countryside in France and two of the cats got run over! Think they got used to there being no cars. It is so sad when an animal dies though.

I was relieved but also sad someone else had lost their pet, it's a strange feeling. I am so glad the older cat doesn't venture out and we only have 1 to worry about, she loves being outside.

Just been to check the mince, was sure it's today's date (it is).On picking up the pork steaks, the top one dated the 13th, i noticed the bottom one was dated the 7th! The day they were delivered and as it was an afternoon delivery we already had beef in the slow cooker so they wouldn't have got cooked anyway. I really must check better or find a time to go shopping and try to be more strict with what goes in the basket.

Evening. Today was pay day. DH has got over a 100 less than normal. His shifts were all swapped over Christmas and i think he must have lost a couple of shifts somewhere. It will stay in the holding account until the 1st.

We took the girls swimming today and they have both moved up! Called at @ldi on the way home and spent 27. More because the little ones wanted to try lots of new things. They've eaten a mango between the 3 of them tonight, i know they are expensive fruit but i was just pleased to see DD try something new. She has also picked up persimmon to try (not shown them by me, honest). Hoping we can venture to choosing veg to try eventually.

At work tomorrow and should be going to bed but sat watching The Crown series 2 as recommended by Reality a few pages back. DD1 is hooked too and we've been watching way too many episodes in 1 evening.

Good morning. Been a busy few days at work.
After work yesterday i got some flowers for MIL birthday 9 and bread and replacement pork steaks 4.
After complaining the other day and hearing nothing for days, we got an email this morning to say they had looked in to it and refunded the amount for the steaks. I still haven't done an order today though, ill do a list and pick it up after work tomorrow, i think we have enough for school lunches.
Today should be a NSD as DH in bed so not going anywhere.
The laptop is about to die and the girls sound like they are trying to kill each other (practising gymnastics and falling out) so i better go and get something done and i'll pop back later to catch up on diaries.

    Evening.
I've posted on the flylady thread, i will get this tip sorted and hopefully make a few pennies too.
They are coming out on Wednesday to see why the smart meter isn't connecting so need to do the kitchen first.

Haven't spent anything today. Need to do a shopping list for tomorrow and try to stick to it. Need to take 30 out for the girls gymnastics but that's it paid until march.

I may have to use the emergency fund before it's even built up (449 in there at the minute). The dryer stopped working again earlier, i tried everything to get it back on. Went back in a few hours later to turn on the heating and pressed the power button on my way past. It came straight on but is now making a grinding sound. I don't trust it and wont leave it on if i'm not about.

Busy day tomorrow, i'm at work, kiddies have gymnastic's and then swimming. I need to fit shopping in somewhere, we may manage until Tuesday.

And boo to the tumble dryer going. I couldn't live without mine over the winter. But at least you have a bit in the emergency fund if you do need to buy a new one.

Thank you. Was definitely a busy day. Should have had a bit of free time in the morning but was spent helping DS1 on his new online ed thing.

Went to work, straight down to watch DD2 swimming, back to work to do some shopping and home to do tea. Finally got in bed and half 12 this morning.

Spending yesterday: DH fetched some bits and a DVD on his way home, need to get receipt but think it was about 13. 4 from food 9 from entertainment. Then did some shopping on way home, he has the receipt for that too but was 13.50 on school trousers and tights, tights fit both girls so need to fetch another pack. 11.70 on DH beer. The other 24? (21.51, just checked pending amount) was food shop.

Just finished my lunch so better start some cleaning before i go to work. I was brave yesterday and asked about changing my shifts, she said 'leave it with me' I hope that's a good sign.

It's been a busy few days and yesterday when I was off work i was too exhausted to move. Just wanted to update my spending on here so I don't forget.
Tuesday was 8 on 3 pizzas ice cream and 2 loaves of bread. Wednesday was 18 and I can't even remember what on (was a lot of school lunch things in it). Thursday DH went for stuff for tea and spent about 40 (did include 9 nappies and 8 sack of spuds). Today I've managed to spend 36 on food for the weekend and 9 on 3 packs of pants for the little ones as they seem to get eaten by the washer. DD1 has also had 8 for college

So not having the big shop on Sunday has sent my spending spiralling! I need to write a list and try to get everything on it so I don't keep going back. Did save 2 today though, was just finishing work as my mum came in so asked for a lift home, saving bus fare (and freezing while waiting)

Nothing else paid to the debts yet this month.
