Hi,
Have been shopping around for a kitchen, and have ended up at Howdens. We have decided on a true handless kitchen, and have gone to Wickes and Howdens so far. Wickes came out at £9K for cabinets and doors, Howdens are cheaper, but I'm not sure if this is the best price I am likely to get from them, any thoughts?

That was the base price, but eventually after a bit of back and forth, we ended up with a final price of £5900.
We said we would think about it, but it's quite a bit above our original budget (probably £4500).
Supposedly, we only have until Saturday to take them up on this price, as their sale ends, but not really convinced by that sales tactic.
We have Benchmarx coming in next week to measure up and quote, so that might provide some perspective, but just looking to see if anyone has any experience with the pricing on this Balham Gloss range.

You do realise that the door/drawer fronts are just MDF with a melamine/PVC coating - Not too much of a problem except when next to an oven. You'll want a heat deflector kit to limit the amount of heat damage to any adjacent doors.
On the subject of ovens, £200 for an oven housing sounds way too much even with a trim panel. A similar carcass from B&Q (less trim panel) is only £39 including VAT.
And to finish off, Howdens want the best part of £7,500 and want you to pay for delivery. Most other places would offer free delivery at that sort of spend.Her courage will change the world.

Ridiculous price for 1.5 bowl sink with fixings. You can pick up a Grohe or other decent brand sink and fixings for less than half that amount.0 -
have a look to DIY Kitchens. They have an AMAZING range and the quality is superb. I did my kitchen buying from them and cannot praise them enough. They can send you samples if you want to check colours, texture, whatever, prior to shopping, if you cannot visit the shop.
