Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. They registered yesterday, asked the question, got an answer, deleted the post, and immediately logged out.
I doubt we will see them again.0 -
All very well for those as clever as you, davidmcn, who know what that is and how to do it. Unfortunately, I do not number among such (:o) but thank you.0

Hi LandyAndy - I'm still here - I've been at work today sorry about that!
I've also re-edited the post to show the original text. I always feel bad if I think I have offended people but your words have baffled me - we won't be seeing them again?
I won't say anymore. Thanks to all who originally provided advice for me to pass on to my pal x0 -
If you want the whole thread deleted because your friend is concerned about her privacy then contact the forum team. They have the option of deleting if the reason is valid.
Just for info, there's a bit of a history of new posters popping up and then deleting. Some seem to be making up scenarios for their own purpose, and others strop off out when they don't get the answers they want to hear. You seem to have inadvertently triggered people's scepticism due to this - don't take it personally. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Thanks Elsien - had a killer of a day at work and had tea, sat down, logged on and I admittedly felt shocked haha - I should have read the rules BEFORE posting!
I've re-edited the original post now so hopefully people may find the advice people have given useful, in future xx0 -

Good on you for reinstating the original post. As others have said, it can be quite miffing when threads, or parts of threads, are deleted after people have given of their free time to provide helpful answers and advice. As someone pointed out, the advice is also helpful for other people who search the forum at a later date, not just for the OP.
You/your friend should be careful about putting any identifying information on public forums. From re-reading the thread contents, I don't think there is any danger of that in this thread (i.e., you haven't given any details that would link back to your friend, and she won't be the only person in the country who is in this position).
Stick around - this forum is a good place for advice and information, once you have figured out how it all works!(Nearly) dunroving0 -
Cheers Dunroving xx0
