What small DFW things will you do w/c 12th November?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning house to myself and enjoying a coffee will wake up madam in a minute to start getting ready. Still need to iron her clothes and polish her shoes!
Have just heard chicken pox is going around madam's class  part of me wants to avoid it due to hassle it will bring with work and I don't think oh has had it :eek: the other part of me wants her to have it as the older she gets the worse it will be....
Day off today, not back at work till Friday :j
Things for today:
[STRIKE]* 2 x walks with pup - need to contact co-sharer as I was meant to be working today so she was having pup for day but due to not being able to drive I was allowed to cancel my shift. Need to still offer him to her.... message sent[/STRIKE] he's staying with me. Need to find a semi dry window to go for 2nd walk!
[STRIKE]* flylady[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* all meals from stores - probably need to jig things around as forgot to get lamb out of freezer![/STRIKE]
* did an online shop for delivery weds. I never do them as we shop at Lidl and it grinds my gears that everything costs more. Managed to get free delivery and what with not being able to drive at the moment it makes sense
[STRIKE]* finish sock[/STRIKE] and cast on 2nd
[STRIKE]* carry on quilting[/STRIKE]
* might start taking in a cardi I picked up 2nd hand :money:
[STRIKE]* check onepoll[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* read book[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* check banking/pay a bill/straighten up accounts[/STRIKE]
emptied & cleaned current bin. Swapped it with found bin and old bin now houses paper :money:
* did a mini clean of the larder - you can walk in there again!
Going to take pup for walk and then do flylady this morning leaving me with most of the day to do things I want to do :beer:DF as at 30/12/16

Morning DNMS thanks for starting a shiny new thread. Working nightshift tonight so I will need to fit in a nap at some point this afternoon. Yesterday (as I was thinking about my very low Christmas budget) my car went over a nail so will need to get a new tyre today and rethink the Xmas budget
Mr Daydreams has been talking recently about buying a house to do up and potentially sell on. He has seen 2 houses he would like to view. We currently live in Mr Daydreams house which he has a mortgage for and we both pay the bills. My credit file is horrific at the moment and have no way of getting a mortgage any time soon. We have only been together for 8 months so it's all relatively new anyway. He's probably not going to go any further with either as he is very sensible and likes to take his time mulling things over and I have a feeling they will both get snapped up. I'm not sure how I feel about living in a doer upper. On one hand I can't be bothered with the hassle but on the other hand we/he could make a nice wee profit.
I better get a move on as it's a busy one today:
- [STRIKE]Arrange viewings for the 2 houses (We both hate talking on the phone but Mr Daydreams is phoning the garage about the tyre so I've agreed to do this one)[/STRIKE] Arranged for tomorrow & Thursday :j
- [STRIKE]Check bank account and update spreadsheet[/STRIKE] had more than I thought so that's going straight into the tyre fund
[STRIKE] - Withdraw money from Quidco[/STRIKE] I had £21.68 just sitting in there
- Put 10 things on Ebay
- Text my brothers re doing a secret santa this year and set a budget
- Buy Mr Daydreams birthday presents
- Set up Ebay spreadsheet as I'm also selling on behalf of my mum and want to make sure I give her the right amount of money
- [STRIKE][STRIKE]Package up sold Ebay items[/STRIKE][/STRIKE]
- Walk to Post Office avoiding all other shops on the way
- Sort out meals for the week as menu planner was rather rushed last week
- Start a list of dinner ideas as menu planning always seems to be rushed and I always forget to put half the things on my shopping list
- Sort through this huge pile of ironing
- Withdraw cash for new tyres
- Go through the few Christmas things I have bought
Not MSE but important me things - Have a nap
- Watch a Christmas film
- Look at reading challenges for next year as I definitely want to start reading more
- Try not to fall off the diet wagon :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a fab day

Hi November Networkers,
Morning!:coffee: Day off. Cold and wet here. Managed to accidentally take two doses of my medication this morning.
Thanks for the starter DNM.
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:
* Check online banking. Done.
* Get some exercise. We are going to our rented storage locker today to put away all our Summer stuff. So that's some free weught-lifting. I know renting storage space isn't very MSE....but it is what it is. Then I am going to properly clean out and tidy our storage cupboard at home. More weight-lifting.

Morning folks
Thanks to DNMS for starting us off
I'm still catching up with last week and this week but big hugs to everyone
Natalie - I've not tried sterilising fluid thank you for the tip
Am gutted. after feeling very pleased with my almost new bargain breadmaker from FB, it broke on the second use. The drive shaft disengaged inside somewhere. I could hear it turning inside, but it wasn't moving. OH tried to take it apart but it was def not designed to be serviced. Poor chap sliced his thumb open for his trouble too.
Used £40 of my work voucher to order a brand new one
Has felt incredibly spendy over the weekend, but mostly because we broke the back on the Christmas shopping. Also still feeling rubbish with this cold. It seems to have gone on my chest.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores - done
- Charge phone in work - done
- No alcohol - done
- Training day at work - free nibbles? - cookies!
- Gym after work - take it as it comes as still not totally well - done
- Heating off hopefully. I am horrified at how much our energy cost has gone up since our last fix ended. - done
- Wash down kitchen window. We have now removed all of the old manky patchy frosting. I wish we could leave it unfrosted but our kitchen window looks directly into next door's garden
- Washing away - done
- Message my mum re money she owes me - done
- Message gardening place re faulty product - done
Have a good one all

Checked banking, update sheet
Reconcile just for points credit card
Realised I can make DH one of his favourite meals using leftovers from yesterday's roast and the store cupboard :j
Order a few presents online
Washing shuffle, may peg outside as it's bright today
Small to prepaid lesson
Shuffle money between accounts to meet minimum terms for interest
Double check meal plan so I know what we're having when, made a big batch of soup yesterday and it's always satisfying when it's sat in the fridge, knowing you can a wholesome meal in under 5 minutes :rotfl:
Maybe make some pesto as my basil plant is growing like the clappers, possibly search nut free pesto given that I realised yesterday my small should be taking pesto pasta to school as they are nut free school and it's a staple
That'll do for now, have a good day folks. Purps.0 -
