Freezing Angel Delight.. 28th Mar 06 at 8:48 PM
Is it okay to do? I normally make a packet up and split in to 4 smaller pots to take to work. I make it with longlife semi skimmed milk, is it okay to just leave it in the fridge for up to 5 days.. or should I be freezing it???

I think there is something on the packet saying it should be eaten within 2 hours of being made?????

I havent made angel delight since I was a child. I would be reluctant to make it now as it is made from all sorts of reconstituted e numbers. I have made home made angel delight recently from a recipe I found on this forum. I'll have a look and see if I can find it for you.

Oooo I'll have a look.. I know it says no need to chill I guess that is you didn't chill it. I can't see why it wouldn't have a long shelf life (at least a week like most youghurts) as it's made with longlife milk and chilled.

Lydia.. thanks for the links.. unfortunately I'm a bit "funny" with creams, milks etc.. hence the longlife nearly tastless milk!!! Looks like my clever money saving plan isn't so clever after all!!!

Not so long ago there was info on the packets to make Angel Delight lollies - you used half the amount of milk I think... could you maybe make half the pack up for two days and make up the other half with less milk to make an ice lolly for an at home day?

We LOVE angel delight, i found some childrens variety in Tescos the other day with no artificial colours or preservatives, and ive frozen it in the summer for my two, and they love it that way!!! (i like it any way, im not fussy!!!) Mind you, once i make a packet, its not normally around long enough to have some left over to freeze!!!!
