I bought a pair of trousers in the sale yesterday, 70%. I asked when I was paying when would it be going to go to 90% and the assistant thought it will be approx. a weeks time. They had a lot of stock left, prob. about 12 rails.

Does anyone else remember, not that many years ago, when at the end of sales M and S dropped everything to £1?

I have fond memories of real bargains with M&S - the best one of all was posted on this site a few years ago. They reduced a huge amount of men's clothing to 1p - including morning coats, trousers, suits etc and M&S honoured it. I kitted out every male relative for our wedding for around a quid.

I remember the 3-2-1 days - undies and kids' clothes being £1, tops being £2 and larger items like trousers and dresses being £3. I think coats were marked at £5, not that there were ever any by the time I got into the store :o

I think 90% is in the end of this week, probably Thirsday or Friday and ends on Sunday?

    I remember this.
Bought some nice things for a £1, including an expensive suit, and beautiful cashmere wrap, I still wear occasionally.
Also loads of irresistible bargains I never wore...but the charity shops did well out of me...

Not much left today in town.
All the big reductions had gone.
Lots of boots, some leather ones at £16.

And a thermal long sleeved top for £4.29 from £16.00 (more than 70% off).
Mine was burnt orange, they had the same in grey but that was £7.09.

    I posted this ^^^^ on 1st April.
My town M&S still had a grey thermal top priced at £7.09 - which is not even 70% off - yesterday.
Only a few items left that I wouldn't even pay £1.00 for.

    Try another branch?
I bought a few tops/blouses reduced from £19.50/£15 to either £1.69 or £1.89 including some short sleeve jumpers for mum. :money:

The nearest branches are a bus ride away which I'd have to pay for so not worth a speculative journey.
But thanks for the suggestion. :)
