My debts are mainly because my partner died and my income reduced by £1500 a month and I've sold what I have, nothing much left. I work as a lecturer but as most lecturers I'm hourly paid contracts seldom get given out so I don't get paid from end of May until October when students are back that's how Universities manage to keep going so the money is good but doesn't add up to outgoings. I need a job for at least another 4 months of the year but nothing in my field and many temp jobs want younger people. So for the last 2 years I have a shortfall of about 5k a year which I need to clear and try not to run up. The only thing I can cut back on is food and heating and I have to try to earn more, thanks for the advice.

Firstly i just wanted to say sorry for your loss and situation which you're now in, and also, I wondered if you might be able to do some private coaching? My daughter does and in a couple of hours a week she can earn as much as I do in a month with my clicks and cashback. She studied languages and her customers are adults wanting to learn the languages, but I'm sure lots of people hire coaches to help their children get through exams

Also what about trying to become a tutor for the OU (or any similar institutions?) - my OU tutors all worked as lecturers, and some of them also tutored on the summer schools, I don't know if that would be an option, or depending on your subject, are there summer schools or similar for people doing professional exams?
(Sorry if this is all obvious or you've already looked into it :o)

Other than that, if you find seasonal work hard to find, it might be worth trying to find maybe a shift a week doing something all year round, maybe bar work or restaurant, then you'd have more money coming in, and then once you'd established yourself they might give you more shifts in the summer

    Good luck :)

Reading back through the December thread I saw someone saying about a twice weekly click on TopCashBack to Hotel Exclusives, but it doesn't seem to track for me, I clear my cookies every day so not sure what the problem is :(

It was me that said about it but I've just checked and realised It hasn't tracked for me either. I'll raise a ticket with TCB and see what they say.

    Evening

I have finally worked out my totals for November and December and updated my signature. I made £3255.40 in total last year which works out at just over £270 a month - I am very pleased with that :j

So far in January I have £4 bank reward and £27.65 cashback from a credit card. I have sorted out some receipts for things I bought for work so that I can claim them back next week, although these won’t count towards my total it will be money in the bank.

I have also sent off the reading for my solar panels so may get that cheque this month and taken another pile of DVDs of my brothers to sort through and sell. I’m still not feeling my best but definitely getting better and will be back at work on Monday.

Well done to everyone who has made a good start to the new year :T
