If someone dies and their property continues to be lived in by a beneficiary, does the unused amount council tax on balance of deceased have to be declared as part of estate to HMRC? Even if it has been transferred to beneficiary ?

Yes, on the IHT205/400. It's an asset to the estate as at the date of death.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Yes it is not being reclaimed. How does this affect things ?0

It's an estate asset, even if it has been transferred to the beneficiary rather than being reclaimed.0
