My experience is non professional although I have been heavily involved in the voluntary sector over the years.

  • Lots of voluntary boards need capacity building. Also, some consultancy houses need specialist practitioner input for some assignments. Might be worth checking with any local ones. Apart from that, I drew down a fiver from £co today. Go me!

Is there a charity linked to your old profession that you could ask to pay the cost of the doors?

Is there a local charity that might help with the doors?

Turn2Us is a good website for finding obscure little charities - some of them have rather quirky criteria.

Other than these could you set up a GoFundMe page and us here on MSE could give you some money to help with the doors or if we PM'd you could you give us your Paypal email address and we could send you some money?

I know they don't like this sort of thing but you are so lovely to everyone, you post on numerous diaries and are like our own personal MSE cheerleader that you deserve to be recognised.

    Eek to your exhaust.

Well to be fair, it is knocking on a bit, and with the fact the exhaust never failed on my previous car means that it must have been 15 years since I last had to spend money on exhausts.

    Tyres...that's a different subject...

No it wouldn't be cheeky although they would take a percentage of donations hence I thought direct to your Paypal would be better as we could tick 'friends and family' and then there is no charge.
