Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows the rules with regards to a delay being caused by a flight being diverted to offload an ill pilot and arriving late to collect my family at our airport....in turn causing my flight to reach its destination over 3 hours late?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi johnff,
The rules are not clear cut on this issue so more details would be helpful.
If the pilot was ill during a flight, it will be regarded as an EC.
If he had a bad curry the night before and called in sick with time to call a standby crew, it is not an EC.
If it happened at a home base or an outstation is also a factor.
The more detail you can give the better.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
I thought it might have been an EC as the pilot was on the plane when he took ill and it was diverted.
Thanks again
