Lawn on new build house

Hi hopefully I am posting this in the right place.
My son completes on a new build house on Friday and is not satisfied with the work completed on the lawn.
He would like to withold some money until the work is rectified.
Would anyone know where he would stand in this matter.
Thank you.

Probably better on the Housing board, but you may get some answers here too. My own view is that he should seek the advice of his solicitor before witholding money - I just hope it's a solicitor that he selected rather than one chosen by the developer.

His solicitor will know, and ought to have already given your son advice about the contract (which is where any rights would be contained) before he exchanged. But if your son isn't sure, he should ask his solicitor, given that's what he's paying them for.

(though I expect the answer will be no, he won't be entitled to do it - pretty normal for stuff like this to fall under post-completion snagging)

If it's like most new houses, the turf will have been laid and then not watered so the turfs either die or shrink.

    Hi there..
    Thank you for your replies..
He has consulted with his solicitor who has advised he has to pay and then do a snagging list..
The lawn has basically been laid on rubble with no top soil and is dipping and uneven.
He has paid £800 for this on top of the £300k for the house.
