Staywarm: electric supply only question

Hi All

Wife & I have been on Staywarm for about 4 years now.

We live in the country and with no mains gas supply run an oil CH system.Electric for lighting & cooking only.

Until last year Staywarm offered a cheaper "electric only" tariff but this was then deleted and we have to pay the normal Staywarm gas & electic tariff which doubled our monthly cost. (2 persons 3 beds ), £28pm to nearly £60pm

We queried this with Staywarm and were told *IF* we had mains gas this would be ok but we ought to consider migrating to another Powergen tariff or changing to electric heating.

Therefore we have decided to buy some electric heaters to keep our oil consumption down.

Question is:

As our electric bill will be higher than a similar gas&electric user will we fall under the "excessive" use clause ?

I know Martin Lewis has now managed to get Powergen to withdraw the current "excessive use" terms but I suspect it will return under another guise.

thanks
