Crunchy family time is the best gift of all, so glad you've had a good break.

That loan will be gone before you know it. Have you got a time frame to get it paid off?

    Evening all.

We are back! Feeling very tired and looking forward to getting the house cleaned and straightened up this weekend. I also really must crack on with some school work.

Very good news! I have just done the banking since husband got paid today and we are officially under £10k on the loan. £9775 to be exact! On Tuesday the minimum payment will go out bringing it down to £9500. Yay! Yay! Yay!

Husband has also transferred his credit card balance onto the 0% card and I have updated the signature to reflect this. £2900 seems a lot but he is actually owed some expenses and mileage so it will soon go down once that money comes rolling in. We are making a £50 a month payment on this and I will chuck extra pennies at it which are under £50 (I initially said under £100 but I have changed my mind!) I think the 0% deal ends in the summer so will see how it goes and sort out a plan later in the year.

In addition to the £50 a month for the 0% card we were forking out £40-£60 a month for husbands other credit card. We have decided to keep this and he will use it for fuel and then claim back mileage and I will keep this one at £0 as much as possible so we pay as little as possible interest on it, keep the £40-£60 budgeted for and see how things work out with husbands working pattern and amend where necessary.

Husband and I have agreed to spend as little as possible in the next 3 weeks until I get paid to give ourselves a real good head start on 2017.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone's diaries!

Starting as I mean to go on today.

Used some of my nectar points for the sains shop today - £28 worth.

Transferred £28 from the food budget onto the credit card which is now £2,872!!

    Woohoo! And we are off!

    Happy new year!!!

Just back from seeing friends. Cost £3 in sweet treats as our contribution to the lunch.

Filled up car on way there. I budgeted £60 but it cost £53 so £7 transferred into the credit card bringing the total overpaid to £35 so far!

Also listed an item in tree of gum today just to get things moving further. Got a few other bits to put on but just need time to sort them out.

Kids are very tired and grumpy and I have a mountain of work to do tonight. Will hopefully come back later to list my goals for the year.

    Afternoon all,

Got very into organising last night which is great but didn't have time to really think about my goals this year. Went to bed at 11pm and DD woke us up for 5.30am so feeling very rubbish today. Went back to bed whilst DD had her nap this am then husband and I have a had a blazing row bout cleaning or something in our usual rubbishly communicated way. I think we have made up now but I have had a good cry on the locked bathroom floor about an hour ago. I think we are just very tired after the week away and a rubbish few nights sleep with DD. And I now have work on my mind.... or more accurately the lack of work I have done and I am back to school tomorrow!!

So just settling down whilst kids and husband are watching a film to write down my goals for 2017.....

    1) Run a half marathon
    2) Pay off all our debt
    3) Make some clothes for myself
    4) Lose 1.5 stones.
    5) Read a book a month

Nice a precise and to the point.

Christmas can be such a fraught time when you have small children and reduced sleeping hours. The good cry has probably helped. I like your goal of making some clothes. I'm rubbish at anything like that!

I understand totally about thinking about school. I did about 4 hours of planning yesterday. I've got a PGCE student and she's with me full time from tomorrow for 6 weeks (previously it was 3 days). She's really good and will be teaching 40% so it does take the pressure off me slightly.

But I've had to look at my medium term plans and my heart just hasn't been in it! But I know my 10.30am tomorrow I'll be back in the swing.

    Oh for a lottery win!
