  • Thanks DFD(W), brizzle & mummy, OHs spoken to another garage and they can do it for half the price :) but we need to get the car across the other side of town :( minor technicality in the big scheme of things!

Have looked at the budget, think we can get £150 together but do need to pay deposit for DSs school trip. Don't want to reduce DMP payment as that just upsets everybody :o. Had a late night from work so not had much time tonight, will check again tomorrow.

On the money front yesterday was NSD 11, tonight I had to get petrol £20.

    We can get through this.:o:)

Thanks brizzle, your kind words always but a smile on my face and make me feel better. :)

Rightly or wrongly have paid £50 towards DSs trip, then OH reminded me that DSs sports club need paying...eek.:(

Took clothes back to m0rris0ns, didn't get any summer stuff but did get 4 items for DS3. Also picked up some deodorant that was on offer, bits of fruit, other lunch box stuff and other bits .£34s worth.

OH has sorted the car, the garage is very busy so won't get to make a start until next week at least........no rush, gives us more time to sort money out.

Talking of OH, he's been ok the last few days. Like I say he's sorted the car out without any hassle......haven't really spoke to him about how and where we'll get the money from though. Will deal with it myself.:o

Thinking I'm going to have to do the fleabag thing. Can't see me making loads but every bit helps!!

  • The only spend today was the childcare bill. Not sure if I can class today as a NSD?? It was a bill I paid so?

Have tried to clean the fan on the laptop using the hair dryer and hopefully see our IT friend at the weekend to ask about the mother board. Hopefully it can hold out for a little while longer.

Tomorrow I'm out for lunch with work colleagues, max spend £7, don't really have a choice....keeping up appearances and all that.:o:)

Nearly forgot, got a sample of D&G perfume in the post.....well I think it's perfume could be aftershave:rotfl:......but it does smell nice.

  • Have managed to peg out today :D.

Yesterday's lunch was a bit more than I budgeted for, spent £12. Then last night OH wanted a chippy tea, I wasn't hungry but OH still managed to spend £8 odd in the chip shop. After working out how much we would be spending if we went every week, or even every other week I think I've persuaded OH that we'll only go on the last Friday of every month.....and it will be healthier too.

OH took the NHS depression test, came out as 'not depressed', I wonder if he wasn't truthful when he took the test?!?:o

Went to help at the sports club this morning, free sausage/bacon sandwiches for the kids.:D

Went over to @ldi spent £24, went into town and spent £12 in the pound shop, then £37 in sburys. Need to update spending diary and work out januarys totals.

Cheese and potato pie and beans for tea.:)

Still got to sort money for the car.....:(

  • The sun is out for the second day running.:)

Have done the meter readings this morning. We are £87.75 in credit and have used £50s worth over the last 2 weeks, so not too bad considering we had the heating on for 8 hours yesterday to help air the washing.

Managed to get 3 loads of washing dry yesterday, just 1 load to go out this morning. Will try and do all the ironing later.

Spends for January, groceries £340ish, petrol £170 (both cars), NSDs 12.

This morning I'm going to make cheese and potatoe pie for tonight's tea, cottage pie for tomorrow's tea and some spag Bol sauce for the freezer.

I think we've just about got the money for the car.....although I'm choosing not to think about it.....February is going to be extra tight.

Hope everybody has a great day.xx

I think you mentioned that DH seemed better in himself the last few days so maybe the he was truthful but if he had taken it last week then the results would have been different?

Men - what can you do with them??

As you know DH has depression and some days are worse than others. If he feels really down he tells me and we call it a 'mope day' and he just does nothing all day, the kids and I avoid confrontation with him and asking him whats wrong and usually by the next day he is fine.

I think it helps us to accept his mental health when he admits his down days because in the past he has tried to soldier on and then ends up more depressed because he has been holding it all in.

Fingers crossed DH's mood continues to improve - I think the weather helps, this last week has had some nice bright days.
