Poor old pup and the thermometer! I hope the meds sort him out - and the cost isn't at all bad considering what some vets charge! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Also puppy has started coughing seriously this morning.. he has a funny cough when he gets really excited but this is getting worse so I rang the vets and they can see him this afternoon. I'm not sure if my pet plan covers today's visit...probably not but I would rather be safe than sorry.
Hope your pooch is okay. Ours coughs (like clearing her throat) when she gets excited too. I read that certain breeds of dogs are prone to that excited cough as their trachea is prone to collapsing when they're breathing harder, but it's not deemed to be harmful.
But, a few days ago she was doing that cough without being excited. We thought it was kennel cough - she'd been in kennels while we were away, but dogs can pick it up from other dogs anywhere.
We've been to the vets and she's been on anti-inflammatory medicine. We're taking her back today so we'll see what they say.
Pets can be such a worry. Hope yours feels better soon0 -
Thanks SSG & Lilith...my pup means the world to me.
Lilith - I should pay you as that is exactly what the vet said about the trachea being prone to collapsing which I hadn't realised. I don't know if it is at all helpful that I start patting him on the back as if he's a child... will have to go google that in case it is the totally wrong thing to do. How is your pup now?
I started back to work yesterday so I left the house at 6am... OH said that as soon as I shut the front door the pup was down crying at the bedroom door for him to either get up and bring me back or to let him into bed with him...neither of the 2 things were going to happen.
Pay day today but my budget starts from the 1st of the month so I am YNAB broke until then.
I was at yoga last night which I absolutely love but I just can't get the mind set to actually want to leave the house in the evening. I'm at a volunteer thing tonight and then tomorrow night is all my own

Glad your pup is ok - yes ours had the thermometer experience too lol.
You paid £4.99?? We paid £38, £26 of which was the consultancy fee (I.e. examination!) And the rest was the anti-inflammatory. I had to pay a further £26 for a further check up0 -
I hope the pup's cough gets better, that sounded very cheap for a vet visit.

Hi
Yikes I got away really easy with £4.99 then rather than £38. I do pay £4 to the vets each month on a pet plan which covers his worming etc and 1 health check which he had a few weeks ago which might explain the cheapness.... I'm not going to query it anyhow but am really grateful. Pup still has his cough but it isn't as bad but still taking him back to vets on Monday to be sure.
I have a new cunning plan to stop the frittering from 1st Oct. Each time I 'forget' my lunch etc I'm going to put the same amount of money I spend on the lunch/coffee/snack into a savings fund which will make me more aware of the true cost of frittering.
Ok it's Friday...I will survive

Good idea for the no frittering plan, Munchin. We pay £10 a month to the vet for free flea/worming treatment, and still we get charged those sorts of prices. It's common round here unfortunately0
