Is National Trust membership worth it?

Does anyone here have a national trust membership, do you recommend it? I'm mulling over the idea of the membership.

If you go to Cornwall for a week you will probably make back the cost of annual membership in free parking, as they own a lot of the coastline.

Ditto for large chunks of the Dorset coast.
