Morning folks.
I slept really well last night, no overnight coughing or other interruptions. Mind you I woke up boiling hot, the heating had kicked in so the radiators needed to be turned down. DM is sitting up in bed enjoying her cup of tea. Life goes on, I'll phone her GP next week to get more information.
Gosh, it was wild overnight, now the sun is shining like a shiny thing and it's fairly mild. Plans for today are to take DM shopping and then toddle off home a bit later. I've read reports on FB about huge amounts of water on both A82 and A83 so I'll be taking things really slowly.
Such awful news about Holly. Did she have tests for checking other areas? So sad to find out just on the cusp of 'freedom'.
Now I hope everyone has a happy Saturday.0 -
Good morning all,
Its seems a nice clear day up to now here.
Nelski I'm so sorry to hear Hollys news, she must be devastated, please send much love and positive thoughts, and have a hug yourself xx
Ly1a has been walked ,the grandchildren are still in bed ( scratch that, now up and squabbling) Think theyre tired ,we had a walk in the dark to see a local landmark called Rivington Pike, which is being lit up for a week with a giant poppy. There were a few others out too, with lanterns and torches. We didnt get to the top as it started raining so hard it stung our faces and it stopped being an adventure for the children so we made our way back to the car and came home to hot baths and hot choc allround.
As we got nearly home,a warning light came on in the car, saying it wasnt being charged.DH and DS had a look and they think the alternator has gone.
Anyway better go and sort the DGC,DS has had to go and let s.o. in his house to do some plastering,
Have as good a day as possible xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Nelski, what awful news from Holly, some people really get the sh*tty end of the stick.
Gers, I'm sorry about the news about your mother.
I didn't post yesterday because I had a bit of an emotional day but I'm feeling a bit more optimistic again today. We'll see Chris and Crystal again today which is always nice.
I finished sewing the blocks of my patchwork quilt together yesterday, it just needs the borders on now. I'm pleased with how it looks and the black fabric I was worried about looks good now.
Rosyred, you must live not too far from where I grew up in Charnock Richard.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Especially Holly, what awful news to be given just as things were looking so positive. Nelski please tell her I am thinking of her.
My goodness what a s**t bit of news to be given at any time but especially at the moment.
Gers I am so sorry to hear about your Mum, have an extra hug.
Its a bright morning, towels in the washer, they should dry on the line.
I spent most of yesterday wrestling with a new phone its a pain in the butt when you cannot remember password to get into things like facebook!! I had to change my password a few weeks ago, did not want to change it again, so will have to go into Roboform this morning and get the old one then log into my phone. Its not gone live yet, should sometime over the next couple of days.
DD1 and SIL are living it up in New York. We had planned to go in 2009 when we were going to visit friends in Florida, the trip had to be cancelled, thats when OH's vertigo really raised its head and he was spending more time in bed than up. So we never got there.
I guess OH will be out in the garden, not sure how cold it is, but he can always finish tidting the shed.
All day breakfast for supper tonight, I have 2 small gammon steaks, so will do tomato egg and fried bread.0 -
Morning all
Nels Can this in the other breast be treated ?? please pass on my best wished to Holly xx
Gers give your mum a lovely gentle hug from me xx
Taff great news re the picc line being removed xx
Specky good luck with your new adventure :j I fully expect you to keep posting and keep us up to speed with your life !
DD and I had a lovely time away we did a bit of shopping but it got more and more interesting as the day went on and we stopped for refreshment breaks, there might be some interesting presents this year :rotfl:we had a lovely meal out as well but were back in the hotel room by 8.30 ish , we went for a gin after the meal but a band started playing who were so loud that we could not hear ourselves think (im obviously getting old !) so we bought a bottle of wine and headed back to the room, got in our jamas and watched a film sipping wine in bed :rotfl: yesterday we had breakfast out and a bit more shopping then headed home just after lunch.
We did out food shopping on the way home so that's all done for the weekend.
Right I had better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Hello all
Nelski I'm sorry that you had a bad night but it's no wonder with the horrid news about our Holly. This disease is a bu**er . What were the PTB thinking, to spring that on her just as she was ready to leave. She must feel absolutely devastated. Please give her my love and virtual support and I wish I lived nearer to do so in person.
In other news.......... today it will be a do as I please day . There is nothing that really needs doing so I will just potter along. Mr Fix It is playing fortnite with the DGS on the xbox, so he's in his element. I just have to feed and water him now and again :rotfl:.
Tea tonight will be some comfort food as we still have dark skies and rain, not very pleasant . Thank goodness we don't need to go out. I think I fancy sausage and mash with onion gravy, followed by blackberry and apple crumble for pudding
Take care all and have a goodish Saturday.
love nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
That's such !!!! news for Holly. I know I was poked and prodded and mashed against various bits of machinery and injected with spiderman variant before they came up with a course of action...How did they find it?
Today is a washout so far, am going to take myself away from the source of the problem and cheer myself up with retail therapy.
Have a good day all if you can.Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...0 -
So sorry to hear Holly's news.......how the #ell did that happen??? Surely the diagnosis should have been for both breasts at the same time..... best love to her when you speak Nelski.
Have middle son and partner from London this weekend, she won a 5k Park run this morning..... DS and Mossie observed, although Mossie would have preferred to run.
Having a haircut this afternoon, need to start dinner as we are having ham and cabbage at DS s request.
Have as good a day as possible
