On a Mission

Ok so in October I decided to try and read a book a month.
I've not chosen my November book yet. I'm actually really excited to do this later.
However, I had tried to finish off a Kindle book in October - I got to 75% so will try and get this completed also in November
This is what I've been reading on the kindle. I am actually really enjoying it and it has turned out to be nothing like what I thought it would be about, but in a good way. I'm intrigued, and actually a little apprehensive about how it'll end. I've got to a point in the book where I suspect something will happen and fear reading to find out!!

Wow things are hectic at home and work so there's been lac of updates.
Going to try and quick catch up.
As usual this is the quiet time until Pay day so there's not a great deal of movement/changes

The other week I shopped around for new car insurance as my renewal quote had gone up from the previous year. I went through a cashback site and although it came out the same as the reneweal quote, with the cashback it worked out cheaper.
Well on Friday I called up my old insurance co. to cancel the renewal explaining I'd found a slightly better deal. I got the usual "let me see if I can get it cheaper for you".
Well they did!!! A £66 yearly saving in fact. So instead of £28 a month for 11 months, I got it for £22 a month for 11 months! So cancelled with new company and got my deposit back.
Hopefully next year I can pay it off in one hit

Morning,
You're doing really well.
Fantastic result on the car insurance, I didn't get to change mine or DH's this year but plan to next year.0 -
November Goals
2) To pay a total of £1000 off debt
£47.5/£1000
2) To get £900 in the EF
£250/£900 :(
Well sadly this has taken a hit this week. DH car...again!!! This is to rectify ongoing issues...all which could've been cheaper had it been sorted in the first instance  But you know what had we not started the EF we would've added the cost to credit cards. So sadly we won't get to £1000 in the EF by Christmas but we might get half way there again.
3) To list 15 items on Ebay
1/15
Managed to list a broken hoover....got a bid on it within 30 mins! ! Still a couple of days left on it
4) To earn £50 from surveys - only payable to count
£27.18/£50
Having major issues with VO at the moment whereby surveys aren't working. Looking into it it's a known issue and hopefully will get sorted soon.
Already back up to £5 earned in my PA account, hoping to get to £25 before payout again.

So pleased you had an ef for the car issues, why don't you reset your target - you'll feel better for achieving a lower target than not teaching a bigger one.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Yet again life getting in the way and so no regular updates. Pay day in 2 days and so there will be some good debt busting updates.
November Goals
2) To pay a total of £1000 off debt
£47.5/£1000
2) To get £350 in the EF
£250/£350
So I've readjusted this particular target after a huge chunk was used on DH's car. Hopefully I can achieve this.
3) To list 15 items on Ebay
1/15
Not made any head way with this And actually the one item I did sell I think will fall through as the person who has won the bid has not paid, or got in contact about collection and in fact it's a brand new account with no feedback. So I'm not hopeful on that one.
4) To earn £50 from surveys - only payable to count
£27.18/£50
No movement on this yet. VO seems to be slowly sorting itself out though.

Little and often for debt busting. You are not adding to your debt, you had an emergency fund to fix the car issue and it's no where near the end of the month yet.
All in all, looking quite good (if a little frustrating)Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Well another disaster! Poor DH. Finally got car sorted. The on Monday night he was driving along the motorway and the car in fronts exhaust fell off and ricocheted under his car knocking his steering out and piercing the power steering fluid bottle thing. That cost £280 to sort.
So we have a clean slate with the EF.
3) To list 15 items on Ebay

Still nothing from Ebay re. this. Going to raise a complaint
