After spending Tuesday morning with the dog I went to lunch. The Christmas meal was lovely, a huge plateful of tender turkey, 5 roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, parsnips, stuffing, pigs in blankets, veg & lashings of gravy. The only let down was the sprouts were hard :rotfl: Was so stuffed and couldn’t eat it all !

Pudding was chocolate brownie and ice cream. Fantastic value for £10.95. We had a lovely few hours chatting and laughing and eating :p

Then I went to tesco and got my sister a cd she wanted only £5 & cheaper than online ! 2 David walliams books for my nephew on offer 2for £7 & 2 boxes of sweets for DF half price. Also Xmas socks for DS’s gf. Then I went to the local cheap drug store and got some special Xmas cards (to both of you etc) for 39p each and a good quality pair of men’s Xmas socks 99p. Then came home and walked the dog, just locally as it was dark by then and raining.

I struggled at work yesterday so I booked today off :D I am going to decorate my spare bedroom while DS & gf are away. The bed from spare room is already dismantled and put in their room lol, so I have to do it before they come home on Friday. I already have paint & brush & roller bought over last few months from household savings account. Will walk the dog first around 9am.

My new free sim arrived for my “new to me”phone (£25) and is now activated. I transferred my number and all my data and photos so that is a fab pressie for me. Today I need to sort my car insurance.

  • Busy day today. Walked dog, painted spare bedroom, shower & hair wash, went to vote, home for lunch, played with dog, second coat of paint on spare room, watched tv, made dinner, put bed back in spare room. Phew, back to work for a rest tomorrow :rotfl:

Made some courgette, cheese & bacon muffins yesterday, tested one nom nom :p and put the rest in the freezer for breakfasts. Also batch cooked curry & froze leftovers.

This afternoon I sorted my car insurance last year £236 this year £244. Managed to get it down to £217 no voluntary excess & additional cover. :T

Must stick to meal plan this week. Need to get bananas, carrots, milk, yoghurt.
Breakfast- porridge or courgette muffin, yoghurt & banana
Lunch - hm soup, 29p curry noodles, oven-chip butty, scrambled egg
    Dinners -

    Fajitas
    Chicken balti & rice
Fish pie & broccoli & frozen peas

Yesterday I realised all my dog walking jeans are too shabby for going away at Christmas and I only have one pair of decent jeans to wear.

Popped to Asda and got 2 nice pairs one black, one blue for £10 each. Also got 2 nice casual tops in a lovely soft fabric but warm enough for the frozen north lol £12.50 each.

Managed to forget my pin for my regular credit card (not 0%) and locked it :o but had enough cash in my current account. Have now transferred £45 from annual bills account to cover. I save £100 a month to cover annual insurance house/car & clothes/hair cuts.

Washed my new jeans and work clothes and dried on line outside. It was a sunny, cold but windy day.

I phoned the bank (free call in my phone package) and got straight through! they are sending me a pin reminder so I can use it for remaining purchases for December & petrol & then I will transfer funds & pay it off in full later.

DS’s gf kindly ordered the CD i wanted for my sister. She has amazon prime and as the CD is only £5.45 saved me paying postage. :T Paid for from Xmas fund.

Xmas shopping almost done, just b-in-law to buy for. No idea what, I am waiting for my sister to give me some ideas. Will do some wrapping today.

  • I hope you are enjoying being with your family. It sounds like you are pretty ready for Christmas. Hurrah for new jeans.

It has been too rainy here to do any drying so I am using the machine. Enjoy yourself :j

My other friend had vegi pie & mash and I had hunters chicken with chips, salad, coleslaw and onion rings, both from their 2 for £10.99 menu, it cost us £5.50 (ish) each. Also had a glass of diet pepsi £2.20 & a dessert from the kids menu - chocolate brownie & ice cream £1.49 total spend £9.19. Lovely food and a good chat. :D
