Travel Insurance - Event Cancellation 15th Jun 19 at 11:08 PM
    Hi All,

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I'm travelling to the USa in November, primarily for a 4 day conference, though I will be travelling a few days before the start of said conference.
I've been looking at travel insurance and all seems fine in terms of medical, del;ays etc, but I am looking to get cover in the unlikely event that the conference will be cancelled.
Has anyone come across this before, or does anyone know where I might get further info.
If the conference is cancelled then TBH I wouldnt be interested in going.

    +1 on above.

This also sounds like it would be classed as a business trip so keep that in mind when looking for quotes as some travel insurance separates leisure travel from business travel.

Is the conference in connection with your employment? If so, what can your employer do regarding your question?

Might the event organiser have a responsibility if they cancelled when delegates have booked flights, accommodation etc? Worth checking.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I suspect that it is probably not possible to insure for this. Thanks for your help though.
