Cat with chronic diarrhoea - HELP!

    Nobody on this forum is going to be able to diagnose a sick animal.

    You need to be back at your vet, or a new vet maybe for a different opinion and a fresh approach, not on here.

    If she does need to be PTS that should be a purely medical decision, not a financial one, so MSE is not the right place. Have you tried cat forums or facebook groups?

    What meats have you eliminated from her diet and for how long for?

    Chicken, beef, grains and fish are fairly common causes of allergies in domestic cats.

    Take her to a different vet, with her records. This poor cat is probably in pain and sounds desperately ill and unhappy, but I'd take her elsewhere first before exploring PTS. I would also explain that you felt it started when she went into a garden; she could have eaten something poisonous which won't leave her system. If you can find a vet who are specialists in cats even better.

    Well initially she ate everything, and when she started getting sick, she became pickier about what she ate so, based on the advice from the vet, fed her boiled chicken and rice. But she soon rufusws to eat it so we switched to royal Canin senstive and then gastro intestinal (again, at the request of the vet) but none of these worked. These were designed for cats with more sensitive stomachs and gastro problems. None of these worked.
    She has since been on a pure boiled fish diet as it’s literally the only thing she eats now. And despite all these food changes, she still has the same problem. I’m just wondering if there might be something else I can try, perhaps other cat food as maybe she is intolerant to the fish?

    If your vet has no further options then you need a referral to a specialist vet.

    If your cat is not eating then she won't be getting the sustenance needed to grow- hence her being small
    Has she been checked for dehydration is she has constant runny poos?

    I am not a vet or medical person but my first thought is it a problem with her liver. has that been investigated? If she ate something poisonous she may have liver damage.

    How utterly heart-breaking for you. I'd echo the suggestion to try a different veterinary practice, telling your current practice that you want a second opinion. I hope you find out what the problem is, I really do. (((Hugs)))

    I really do think that it has to be a vet who advises you what to do next, Feline Coronavirus as you say is untreatable and the symptons are as you have already described, I am very surprised if this has been going on so long that your vet hasn't already advised you, hope you get it sorted very soon

    To be fair most cases of chronic runs in cats are caused by food intolerence.

    We also know this cat isn’t eating taurine which will lead to vision and heart problems.
