How can you ask a question about a situation that has not arisen? How would anyone possibly know what the outcome of a hypothetical situation that may or may not happen would be, or should be?
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

My question is should the bank have treated these issues equally?

Only the FOS (or possibly the FCA if it gets that far) can answer this, so why don't you put your hypothetical situation to them?
