hello all,
Well I watched a few of Dave Ramsey's videos yesterday and I think that although I have done ok with the tracking of finances i am doing i think i need to try a budget that is written at the start of the month and account for every penny that way , so i am doing that for after 20Th Dec when i get paid.
It's proving hard atm not to spend with Christmas fast approaching , i am looking into making some chocolate truffles to give as presents , wish me luck!
also have listed another item on ebay , i have only made £7.50 so far , but i am reluctant to reduce prices , will see if it picks up soonpaid off £27,527.47 debt free journey began Nov 2017 DEBT FREE 13.09.2019!! EF £3500/£50000 -
nearly pay day ! i've got £127 left as had to pay for the grocery shopping today of £72 as DH hasn't got enough to cover it before he gets paid so I am putting £27 towards the AA debt and £100 in my savings i want to get £1000 emergency fund , got £10 in there atm
I have done a budget from when i get paid for the month and it includes £100 in savings and the £427 for the credit cards so let's hope i can stick to it, i still feel committed to this and optimistic !paid off £27,527.47 debt free journey began Nov 2017 DEBT FREE 13.09.2019!! EF £3500/£50000 -
Glad all seems to be well Meena! How did your truffles go?
I totally understand the creeping feeling as Christmas approaches and there's many (often unexpected or unplanned) spending moments. I'm feeling a lot more together this year though, sounds like you are too!Starting Debt: £6344.23 (Dec 2017)
Current Debt: £6110
Saving for Christmas 2018: £62/£3650 -
Thanks Vegainer! the truffles were surprisingly easy to make! i would recommend them , I need to make some more however for presents as my children ended up sampling more than was strictly necessary to pass the taste test !
glad you are feeling more together this year too , Pay day tomorrow! yay! I have also secured some extra work from January so that should be an extra £400 income ! it will make up for the £160 we are down on DH 's income , but still going to be ahead so i plan on putting part of it to the debts and part to my emergency fund , i also have the car service in Feb/March to budget for which usually costs £200
I'm going to use my nector points for christmas food this Friday together with DH we have nearly £50
have a good one !paid off £27,527.47 debt free journey began Nov 2017 DEBT FREE 13.09.2019!! EF £3500/£50000 -
