Ah great a new thread, there is something about having a fresh start isn't there. I've been slowly kondoing for a few months now and dip in and out of the thread but I read more than I post. I didn't realise there was a FB group which is great.

I think the posts at the top of the thread are a great idea.

My suggestions for this post are:

    Recycling bras
You can post them to the Breast Cancer charity here http://www.againstbreastcancer.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising/recycling/513/bra-recycling/ or you can go hand them in to a branch of Bravissimo.

    Unwanted pens
You can post your unwanted pens to people overseas to help schools and orphanages via http://www.pensforkids.co.uk/how_you_can_help.html

    Ink jet Printer Cartridges
Can be dropped off at Sue Ryder stores or posted off freepost for a charity from wide list or Tesco club card points for you via http://www.therecyclingfactory.com/our-partners/

British Heart Foundation and Oxfam both do specialist charity shops that sell books and music so I like to separate those donations to maximise the money the charities make.

    I hope these help us!

Postcards can raise money for Great Ormond St children's hospital. http://www.gosh.org/fundraise-us/shopping-and-recycling/recycling-and-environment

Gosh also take all stamps, special and everyday, as do the RNIB http://www.rnib.org.uk/donations-and-fundraising-fundraising-your-community-recycle-us/used-stamps-appeal

Silvasava you posted on the other thread about wanting Christmas cards. I've just destashed some into the CS bag as i decided I don't need more than one pack in the house. I could happily post a pack or two to you if you wanted. I appreciate that would mean giving me your address but I wanted to offer.

Spotted this on the book of face today, thought it very in line with the KM thought process:

    CLOSING 2015

One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through.

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters – whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end?

Did you leave your parents’ house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long-lasting friendship ended all of a sudden?

You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened.

You can tell yourself you won’t take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that.

But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister.

Everyone is finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill.

Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.

That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home.

Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts – and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place.

Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them.

Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose.

Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood.

Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisions that are always put off waiting for the “ideal moment.”

Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back.

Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person – nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need.

This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life.

Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust.

Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.

Awesome thanks for the new thread.

Just been to the tip and the chazzer. Sent a broken suitcase and breadmaker to the tip plus a electric Christmas candle thing. None of which will be replaced. And a very old quilt which sheds feathers everywhere and has already been replaced.

The chazzer got some non joyful boots and a never used camera tripod - 10 years old and mint in the box. Plus a rucksack full of gubbins.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I have decided that my resolution for 2016 is to teach my OH how to fold things - it seems to be completely beyond him!

I hope that by having a place for everything (and everything in it's place) 2016 will prove to be the year where I finally get into a flylady routine. At the very least, I'll be able to use my flying time for cleaning as opposed to having to tidy first. As I have resolved that 2016 will be the year where I kondo a stone or accept my new size, I haven't tackled clothing first. I am however reorganising our bedroom in the hope of making 2016 the year where we banish the floordrobe from our lives for good! Part of this has meant accepting that being female does not automatically entitle me to more than half of the storage space available to us in the bedroom! OH will be marginally tidier if he has a bit more room to store his clothes and manly gubbins.

OH has a habit of keeping things here, there and everywhere. My mission is to have all clothing items contained to the bedroom by the end of the day.

If anyone needs socks or trainers (in various stages of death and decay), OH has enough to shod a centipede. Please form an orderly queue...
