Free prescription at 60 what to do?

Hi All, I am 60 in a months time.
Do I have to apply for my free prescription service ?
Or is it that I simply have to prove my age when I pick up my prescription?
Thanks....

Just tick the over sixty box on the back of the prescription when you present it at the pharmacy.

I think your date of birth is printed on your prescription.

It is. If you always use the same pharmacy then they will update their records so that the prescription labels indicate this and you will not even be asked to fill in the back.

All my labels now say 'Age Exempt'

It is and on the odd occasion I've been asked if I pay* I just tell them 'no, I'm really old'

    * the further past 60 I get the less this happens

It was a lovely surprise to me to get this, and also (I think?) free eye tests. Even better was the fact that there's a concession at 60 for theatres and cinemas!
