How do nhs dentist work

As i used to pay private dental visits.
From dec' I'm booked in for check up with local nhs dentist.
How does that work, is there any cash or card costs initially.
The lady stated over tel that wt'cs are acceptable.

Thanks in advance

Get bill. Pay using cash or the card of your choice. No extra fees for paying by card.
    No idea what wt'cs means.

Don't rely on the receptionist to give you the correct information, check
it out for yourself through the above link.

Thanks haven't yet found Scottish link

are named on or entitled to a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate – if you don't have a certificate, you can show your award notice; you qualify if you get Child Tax Credits, Working Tax Credits with a disability element (or both) and have income for tax credit purposes of £15,276 or less

I have tax exemption certificate+ <12k per annum salary so low earner with disabled elements with working tax credits

Yep, and England pays for it through the Barnett formula. That will change if you ever become independent.
