    Happy 2018 everyone!

    Unfortunately, hubby has been ill since Boxing Day and ended up in hospital on Friday so I have a purse full of change for my pot which I needed for parking! He's fine now, but had urosepsis - having had a close call with full blown sepsis 2 years ago, his GP wasn't taking any chances but I won't pretend the 3 days before admission weren't worrying and stressful and not how we planned to spend our Xmas break!!

    Happy New Year Potters

    I've been trying to catch up with the thread, but there's so much to read! Please accept my congratulations, commiserations, sympathies, delight etc etc. I wish everyone a healthy and happy 2018.

    I managed to pot some change over the Christmas period, however, I have just emptied my purse and discovered a whopping £9.81 in change. Very please with that!!!

    Hope you are recovering Sue xx

    No potting done because I haven't spent owt! 3 more days of no-spending to go and I'll be able to pot my full tenner - I love having that as motivation not to spend.

    Yes he is, thank you. Still on antibiotics but over the worst.

    Just re-potted £9 after having to borrow about £6.50 out of the pot for the parking meters.

    Finally added £2.20 to the pot,after buying potatoes at Tesco.Had hoped for a £2 coin for a challenge I am doing concurrently,but no dice,a load of silver!:D
    This challenge isnt going too well! Still using up Xmas stuff,or using my card. Looks like I am going to have to use cash if I am to to save even a little bit with this challenge! :)

    For most of my life I thought it had an 'L' on the end.................... which is a Bristolian thing/ the way we speak.

    :rotfl::rotfl:.
    (I inserted the dots in your quote,because I wanted to say,that I live in Bristol (partner is Bristolian),and when I read the start of your quote,I thought "Ooh.That's funny,that's how my partner and his parents would say diahorrea"Then I read the rest of your sentence.Yeah,that would be an explanation :rotfl::rotfl:.

    Apropos of Bristol-speak,a few months ago (after living with partner for nearly 19 years),I got sick to death of listening to him say the sound "et",as a past tense for eat.And the kids were starting to copy.So he would say "did you et your food?Did you et your meal?Have you ever et artichoke?" etc etc.Finally,I told him for heaven's sake,stop saying "et".He was adament it is a word.I kept telling him it wasn't.He genuinely thought it was a true word.So I said "Ok,then.How do you spell it?" :D .And it was at that moment that my 49.5yo partner realised that all his life he had not been using the queen's English,but local dialect :rotfl::rotfl:.

    So now that I am here,I've got to find some potting news :eek:.Well,there is about £7 sitting on my bedside chair-change that daughter gave me after returning from new years eve party.I will pot that before I go to bed.
