I'm about to start a claim against Thomson, and have a couple of questions.

Does anyone have the address I need to write to?
And is there a specific Thomson claim form that I can send?

    Am I the only one??

I had no problems claiming from Thomson. I had no paperwork from the flight (boarding passes etc), nor did I fill in any claim forms!! I did post this in another thread on 29th Dec 12:

"Our TUI Thomson flight was delayed in July 2010 from Paphos, Cyprus to Manchester (3 people in party).

We arrived in plenty of time at the airport for a 2PM flight, and were in a very large queue. As we got towards the front, we were told that the plane was now full and asked for all remaining passengers to congregate outside. We were then told that the plane sent for the flight home was smaller than needed, with approx 100 passengers not boarding. We were taken straight to a hotel for something to eat and told to await further instructions. At around 8PM we were taken back to the airport and told we could all fit on their 11PM flight to Gatwick, and that they would then ferry us all back to Manchester via coaches. We boarded the Gatwick flight, which was almost empty and realised why they had done this; cheaper to fill two small planes! We finally arrived back in Manchester around 8AM, which was approx 12 hours of delay.

I sent a letter to customer services on 6th November 2012 (2 1/2 years after the event). I had no booking references or tickets etc, just stated the dates and details etc. I gave them two weeks to respond, which they did not stick to.

I received a telephone call from them on Friday 21st December from customer services who appologised for the delay in responding, but agreed that they would compensate us for the delay at 400 each. total 1200, and at that days exchange rate worked out to around 980. She said I would receive a cheque within 28 days!

We have been flying with Thomson for years, flight only as we sort out our own accomodation, and considering this was the first major delay that we have suffered, and will be quite generously compensated, we will continue to fly with them. They also put us up for a week in a 5 star hotel, during the volcano cloud dust earlier the same year, when we were stuck in Lanzarotte. Again we were on a flight only basis and were treated like Royalty!

    Thumbs up for TUI Thomson!

    "

Well I received a cheque for the full amount, made payable in Sterling, on 11th January 13.
Maybe it is because of the sudden increase in claims that they are starting to ask for more proof?

    Good luck with your claims.

compensation for a flight in 2006
Hi, can anyone help me. Am wondering if im able to claim for a flight i took with Thomson back in September 2006 from Manchester to Malaga. I was delayed almost 9 hours, just stuck at Manchester airport by myself. The delay caused a lot of problems when i finally got to Malaga. I did complain back in 2006 but i just got fobbed off by them and i left it. I dont have any tickets etc as it was over 6 years ago but i do have the boarding pass funnily enough which states flight no, my name, date, and departure time. Can anyone tell me what i should do first? Thanks in advance.

Success - Thomson have settled out of court
    Dear all

I posted on the main forum but just to let you know that I was due to go to court last Thursday and Thomson agreed to settle out of court for a delay from 2010. Thomson agreed 400 euros each (2 of us) and court costs. My ex-husband is a barrister and he did the claim for me and I am happy to email anyone a copy (it quite lengthy).

This was despite Thomson saying it was 'extraordinary' circumstances (it wasn't) and lying over the distance from Manchester to Palma (to try and get the lower amount). My case was put on hold in 2010 but I didn't give up!

    Thomson not paying out?
I have been trying to obtain compensation from Thomson for a flight delay in September 2012 from LGW to Skiathos. I lost a day of my short holiday when the plane was denied permission to land on Skiathos due to, what they informed us, was faulty brakes. After being herded around the airport for hours and not given much info we were put up for the night in Athens.

After ignoring my various communications to them for 3 months, they finally sent me a form to complete in December. It's now nearly 5 months since my holiday and still I have heard nothing.

In view of the recent court case, I am wondering whether it is worth issuing a claim in the small court. It is just their complete lack of customer service that has really added insult to injury.

    Cancelled Flight -TOM78 - Gatwick 30/05/2009
Im after some advice please. My husband and I booked through Thomson to go to Mexico for our holidays we booked in April to fly out from Gatwick 30th May 2009 to Cancun, only doing so as the holiday was very reasonably priced due to the previous swine flu epidemic. On the 25th May 2009 - five days before we were due to go on our holiday, my husband got home to find an answer phone message to say that they were really sorry but they had to cancel our flight as they couldn't fill it and could someone ring them back asap . I rang the following day and was told once again that they had to cancel due to not being able to fill the seats due to the swine flu epidemic - people were too scared to fly and would i like my money back or to be placed on a later flight if they could find us one.. I had a phone call in the afternoon on the 26th May to say that they had some seats on the flight going out of Bristol two days later on the 1st June 2009. We asked at the time for compensation due to having paid for a hotel the night before our flight and parking at Gatwick and also having to take extra time off work and loss of wages and we were sent a cheque for 60 - for the two of us in way of compensation. I have seen that most people on here are claiming for delayed flights do you think i have a valid claim due to our flight being cancelled five days before we were going? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you xx

You are absolutely entitled to 600 euros each in compensation for this flight cancellation. Use my template in the FAQs to base your own letter to the airline and if they do not respond within the time limit you set or give you the run around regarding the reason for the cancellation, issue a legal claim straightaway.

Flight Delayed 26th June 2012 to Jamaica
We had a 5 hour delay on a flight june 26th 2012. I complained as soon as we returned home as it meant we lost half a day of our week holiday they turned us down. In October I then wrote referring to the EU legislation and they have now sent me a claim form after me chasing them. They want our boarding passes. And unless we send them the form will be returned. Not many people keep their boarding passes so fe,el it is an avoiding tactic by them. Anyone else making a claim for this flight TOM 30 gatwick to montego bay? Percyandbob

I managed to find both our boarding passes, these still inside both our passports and after taking a copies of these, sent all by recorded delivery. Within 3 days I had a response, a standard letter confirming reciept of my letter.

Since reading your post, I have just this minute spoken to Thomson, who confirmed they have recieved the letter and boarding passes and will be sending out a claim form.

I guess I can only wait and see, but will keep you updated.

I was able to verify reciept by using Royal mail track and Trace, however did not need to do this as Thomson responded within a couple of days.

I'll make this brief. I was delayed on a return from Lanzarote in 2009, we got to departure and they cancelled the flight. Collected luggage and put up in a hotel. I can track the cancelled flight but unsure as to flight number that we were sent home on the next morning. Any ideas how i can find out?

Thanks, didn't realise there were a number of options on Flight Status. So I was over 20 hours late. Is there anyway I can find the reason for cancellation? I seem to remember there was something wrong with the plane in the UK and then flight hours for the pilots.
