    How does the challenge work?
    • #2
    • 26th Dec 17, 11:23 PM
Every Friday (Or whatever day is easier for you) the aim is to transfer the pounds and pence to round it down to the next nearest £5 or £10.
So if you have £36.78 in credit you will transfer £1.78 or £6.78, or £20.04 in credit you would transfer £0.04 only.

You then can either send me the total transferred for that week on the update form, and I will add each week or wait till the end of the month and submit then with a total, but could I ask you use form as well as adding your figures on here.

This is so I don't miss any updates as some challenges move quickly in posts and pages and would hate to miss any amounts.

**Some banks do not allow you to transfer less than £1, if this is the case what I tend to do is note what the money I have left that week then add it in the following weeks transfer.

For me: The 'Virtual Sealed Pot' is a savings account that is attached to my bank account which makes it easier for transfers (I transfer on payday each month) but due to the faster payment system it doesn't have to be with your bank as all funds transfer instantly or within 2 hours, being a virtual pot i find I'm less likely to take any money out as I do the transfer and forget about it till the next month.

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're most welcome and it's NEVER too late.
If you have been part of any challenges previous years and wish to keep your number or you have a lucky number you want that is fine if it's free otherwise I will assign numbers from the beginning to keep things tidy

Good luck and roll on 2018.

I'd like to join again - can I have number 6 again please, to keep things simple?

I'll put a target of £250 again as I round down to the nearest £10 at the end of each week - so that averages at £5 per week. Plus if there's anything we can spare at the end of the month then that can go in too!

    Thanks for organising this Westie.

Hi all good luck with your quests.

I am not going to officially join you as I have signed up to a few challenges already but this is something I would like to start doing for myself.

I would like to ask if anyone gets any feedback from the banks doing this. Do they mind if people keep transferring a few pence every few days?

    Thanks

Signing up to this as my final 2018 challenge.

I actually do this most weeks anyway. I have a bank account my parents hold that I can't touch (yes... at 27...) that currently holds £450 so will be transferring every £50 into that. The spreadsheet will be really helpful in keeping track of how much is in there! Not sure what I'm saving for, may invest all my savings at the end of 2018, considering my partner seems to be allergic to getting engaged (but hey, a girl can dream ).

Could I please have #17, lucky number! Thanks
