The only job for the BPA/IAS is to collect membership fees
    from their scammers

OK, so someone drives into you and drives off without stopping. You have their VRN, do you not have just cause to obtain their number from the DVLA?

You have not thought this through.

    One argument is simple.

An individual leaves their violent ex. Ex knows the registration of their vehicle and fills in a V888 and obtains the persons new address details.

Now this is an 'if/but/maybe' but still a possibility. Would such a person care if they lie on the form or not?

Only the local authorities, County Court bailiffs and emergency services should have access to this personal information.

    No-one else.
Do not give in to Private Parking firms. Fight them all the way!

Insurance companies often need access for a whole variety of reasons. Stopping them could be costly for motorists.

we had a chap (my ex boss) that thought he had found a way to get info from the DVLA when he was banned from BPA , he became a member of the credit reference service (or similar)

upon kicking off with the DVLA , there are seven organisations that can ask for data , however only TWO , the BPA and the IPC are able to allow there members (audited by them) to get info relating to PRIVATE PARKING #]

so , your insurance one hits a brick wall , as they can BUT NOT FOR PRIVATE PARKING
