Why would the "scam ads button" be unique to the UK?

Surely people across the globe are getting scammed.

Unique to the UK because that's cheaper than rolling it out everywhere.

Well of course, but it seems like ML would be advocating for consumers everywhere, not just the UK.
  • And yet again yesterday on ScamBuck, there was a nice picture of Martin being pushed. As with all ScamBuck ads, I treat them with the respect they deserve. Second definitive word is off, you can rhyme with sugar or duck to suit!
  • Unfortunate truncation of the title!
  • Well done Martin for pursuing the scammers on behalf of all of us, and negotiating a good result for UK users of Facebook.
It's only as good as the speed and accuracy of Facebook s response to a complaint, as these organisations can just spam FB with new fake IDs.
If it's effective, then other jurisdictions such as the EU and USA will have a precedent to work with.
If Facebook are not going to follow through, this too will be publicly discussed.
  • :T Well done, Martin! :T

  • Brilliant work Martin! I admire how you have worked with FB when you were so justifiably angry. Your patience and persistence has been admirable and I hope it will spread , or the idea will spread globally- it should if FB genuinely want to change- they may be proactive themselves more instead of waiting to be sued.
  • Thank you Martin. I appreciate you spending time & potentially money to successfully tackle Facebook - doing a job our government should be doing. Cheers!
  • Martin, you should have kept the lawsuit hanging over Facebook's heads like the Sword of Damocles - if they don't keep their promise and/or screw it up, the lawsuit will take them out.

Oh, and it's Facebook, they'll break their promises and mess it all up.
