Thank you for the review, I am very much interested in your observation. You have got an Android One device, no (or less) bloatware Android OS, directly arranged with Google.
I would assume that your great user experiences is contributed by Android One device - a clean pure no bloatware Android experience.
After spending a few days with it I now know what you mean
I jumped from a Voda SU6 running 6.0.1 to the Xiaomi running 8.1 out of the box and the difference is startling between the OS's. Obviously the hardware is a step or two up but the OS is very sweet indeed. They've made it (to my mind) simpler and more Apple like but you're always just a tap away from the advanced settings that a power user would prefer.
The camera appears to be very capable and the camera app itself is very intuitive and never gets in the way while offering a lot of control. I'm presuming that this is the standard Oreo camera app?0 -
If you dont mind, buying a used or refurbished phone cuts the price a lot and might help you do find the best phone for lowest price0

My phones always seem to last exactly 3 years and the only reason I replace them is usually because the battery has gone, buying a used or refurbished one would just shorten the time I have it.0 -
Again, I'm not into the latest trend but I much prefer a replaceable battery. Fixed batteries are deal-breakers so far for me. Will take the plunge one day.0

Yes, the battery replacement is not as easy as it should be, it is really bad. However, with a little bit more patience, still you can manage to replace the battery.
I recently replace the battery for OnePlus One. With a new battery and Opensource Android OS, both my 2014 smartphone software and hardware keeps fresh as new. :T
I am going to install the latest Android Pie (Android 9) to my 2014 OnePlus One in the future. The below video claims that Android Pie improve 30 % battery life.

Again, the hardware spec has been improved massively, you really have no reason to keep dumping your smartphone in a couple of years as long as you can replace a battery and Android OS.

current phone is a 18month old samsung S7. been really pleased with it and don't need anything higher in spec other than:
- i could do with 64gb of internal memory mine has 32gb. i know i could use an sd card but many of the apps i use will not transfer over, and those that do need moving back to the SD card everytime there is an app update.
- i need a battery that lasts longer than this one
my phone loses around 25% overnight. i generally have to recharge it by mid afternoon. i am more than happy with the performance, screen quality etc and enjoy (or need!) the fast charge capability of this phone.
any reasonably priced suggestions would be welcome from real time heavy users would be apprec iated.
many thanks.0 -

I have the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite which is a bit lower powered than the S7 but does have a whopping big 4,000mAH battery and comes in a 3/32, 4/32 & 4/64GB version but they also have the Xiaomi Mi A2 which is higher performing than yours and although it's the same size battery (3,000mAH LiPo whatever difference that makes) as the S7 comes in 4/32, 4/64 & 6/128GB versions. It's also available in the 6/128GB version for just £225 from Gearbest at the moment.
