This is what is worrying me the most to be honest. I want to be the best mom i can for my little girl!
AND YOU WILL BE! No-one will be able to be a better mum for her, because only YOU will be HER mum.

Yes, you'll make mistakes. Some of them may be big ones. You'll look at other mums and think they've got it sussed. Trust me, they haven't. We are all one big happy club of mums who make mistakes, some of them big ones, try to look as if we've got it sussed, but inside know we haven't.

Not saying you don't and won't need help with being that best mum you can be. But please don't ever think you're not the best she can have, and definitely don't think you're not good enough!

So i got REALLY upset at work and at 4am the next morning when i hadn't had any sleep. Thats when my husband said to me you are going to the doctors today and that was on Wednesday morning.

I was right in the fact that he wouldn't put me on sleeping pills but he has signed me off for 10 days to give me a bit of breathing space. I am to make an appointment with the doctor late next week to potentially discuss anti depressants which I am trying to do some research on at present. Did anybody take then whilst pregnant?

I'm not feeling great today, trying to structure my day by keeping busy and having adequate rest breaks but i'm just feeling down.
    In debt no more!

Try downloading the relaxation track. It's 30 minutes long. I never made it all the way through. Not making any promises but it always helped to relax me during pregnancy. Download it onto your phone and listen to it in bed with your headphones in.
Hope all goes well for you.

I'm glad the doctor signed you off to give you a rest. I'm still struggling with my insomnia (maybe getting slightly better) but I think if really struggle if I had to go to work, taking care of a baby all day is hard enough but manageable.
I haven't taken antidepressants while pregnant but I'm in a few Facebook baby groups by due date and a few on there were. Just remember doctor wouldn't prescribe anything truly dangerous and if something helps mommy then that helps baby by default!

I'll raise your insomnia to insomnia along with a child that is a terrible sleeper even after 3 years!!!

Insomnia is the worst, and the more you worry about it, the worse it gets.

I like the 4-7-8 breathing thing at night.

Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

You could see if your local mh trust has a perinatal team who specialise in maternal mental health. A visit to your gp might be a good start also. X

Try not to go down the anti depressant route, they just mask things and do not solve anything....

I sometimes struggle with sleep and have been using Relax Melodies, a really good app recommended by someone on here. There are lots of free sounds to choose from (music, nature, water, etc.), you can make your own mix and set a timer. My favourite is slow waves, though some of the rain sounds are good too. There are also a few free meditations which are good too.

If you are struggling and your doctor recommends a treatment give it very serious consideration.

Problem is anxiety can be caused by either or both mental and physical causes. Trying to address a physical cause with talking therapy isn't getting to the root cause - while changing the body chemistry can be.
