It bothers me that these milestones are coming earlier and earlier in a child's life. I suppose it is me being a miserable old ******** but I feel sad that youngsters today experience these big events so early, almost certainly too early.
Anyway enough of my grumpiness.
There have been a few really wonderful sunsets this week. I certainly noticed the cooler air today. We enjoyed a roast meal today after watching motorbike racing - perfect Sunday.
Have a good week HHD

No Pauline, not grumpy, just realistic.
No wonder they expect cars as a 17th birthday present & personalised plates as a 18th present.:mad:I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Ooh 117pauline - a fellow East Midlandser - we have indeed had some glorious sunsets just recently
Hairy - hope you get the letters before Wednesday xxChristmas Savings 2024 £252.38/£600 April NSD:2 April Surveys £0 -
I do think that materialism in the form of proms, designer clothes, expensive phones etc is getting too much now. So much pressure on kids to keep up with their mates and parents to pay for it all
I think it will be Wednesday too before the letters come (at the earliest), although it would be nice if it was soonerFinally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks purplemum I know I'll be disapointed if they don't come today, but I also know that's silly because banks etc never do anything that fast :rotfl:
Today DS1 has a flu jab. We won't have a NSD as we're running low on milk and loo roll

Our post doesn't come until near 4pm most days
Hope they don't keep you waiting too long x0 -
Now they are definitely two items you need in your home. I need milk as I am unbearable to live with unless I have tea in my system. No, change that, tea runs my system!
You talking about waiting for the letters has made me think of sending a couple of cards to some friends this week. We don't really get nice post any more, do we? Just bills or advertisements, no fun at all.
I think you should have a thread party when the letters arrive. We could all join you. Bring drinks and cake then watch a Terry Wogan style firework display (now this really shows my age). A celebration for all.
Take care, have a good week
