FU = First Utility

I find the rudeness and bullying of First Utility very distressing. I signed up for the Smart Meter contract and they have made things impossible for me.

    Impossible in what way?

    Yes I think they are also absolutely rubbish. I quit after three months and went to bulb and I’ve never looked back. Bulb paid the exit fees as well.

    I've been with them for the last 4 years and find them helpful if I need to contact them. Do get a bit up tight when they try to increase my D.D. when there's no need. I'm well in credit and don't feel it's necessary to increase monthly amount. In all fairness once I've explained my situation they don't increase the amount.

    What things? ;) . . .

    Merely First Utility did not attend a smart meter installation appointment without notice and compensated me £30, which I felt was low because First Utility charge £30 if consumers cancel appointment with (up to) 48 hours notice.

    When I pointed this out, not the gravest of failings by any means, First Utility's responses were dismissive and couched in Masonic language, which I questioned: is this an intentional threat?

    At every stage, via Resolver, the response was the same and from the same named person. At the end First Utility sent me a Masonic unsigned letter, from apparently the same named person.

    I now have an smart electricity meter, but not gas. The information is useless because it overestimates my bill by about 5 times. I fear questioning First Utility though my first "smart" electricity invoice seemed okay.

    Hope that helps.

    ...and a "Masonic Letter"? :eek:
  • Something to do with triangles and symbols, apparently.
