Wedding Toastmaster?

Has anyone got any experience of training and working as an occasional toastmaster?
It is something I think I’d enjoy: I enjoy public speaking, formal dining, etc. I’m well spoken and have to have a certain confidence for work.
In terms of pure money I know this isn’t the best use of my time- I’d be far better off taking additional shifts at work but they are stressful and I’d like to do something I enjoy more while getting paid.
The courses I’ve seen seem to be about £2,500 minimum which is quite an outlay. How much would a toastmaster earn and how many events per year is realistic? Any other thoughts about this role?
Thanks!
