Budget Gaming PC

Hi,

I'm looking for a budget PC to play tabletop simulator. It doesn't need a lot to run but my macbook does suffer some slowdown and the fan goes bananas.

I'm looking at this for £250 with upgraded ram to the 16gb, and 'downgraded' SSD 120GB as I don't need much space.

Decent for the money?

Looking for recommendations, max budget is £350.

    It's main problem for any gaming is that it does not have a GFX card. (see at #478 https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php )


    I'd also add a SSD for the OS rather than replace the drive.


    Other than that it's what your gonna get at that price.

    I'm pretty clueless about this being a Mac user for 10+ years.

    Stretching the budget a bit but is this a good deal?

    Seems reasonable for not cutting edge games, but you'd need to add Windows 10 (I expect you could find Win 10 cheap on ebay...) and an extra hard disk, 240Gb SSD won't be enough in the long run.

    If the fan is going bananas when the macbookis working hard it sounds like theres dust in there, you might benefit from having it looked at, or maybe getting a can of compressed air and trying to blow it out. If you're confident you could take the base off and see what the fans look like, mine used to get clogged up after a year or so.

    It's pretty good for the money, specs wise. You could do better by building it yourself.

    As it's under your budget you should also buy a graphics card and put it in yourself. Having a dedicated graphics processor and video memory will make the world of difference. The GTX 1030 - about £60 - would be a big step up from the integrated graphics. The next step up would be the GTX1050 - at £110 put you right at the top of your budget and is probably overkill for what you need.

    If you do not put a graphics card in, it will probably run the simulator much slower than your Macbook, which is likely to have a higher spec processor. But with a graphics card - even a low cost one - it will run a tabletop sim with no problem.

    I'm seriously re considering a Ryzen build during 2019.
    Not to disrupt OP's self build board.
    Though with Ryzen 3K cpu+Navi gpu from July approx.
    Then I'm thinking maybe there could be a drop in Ryzen 2k cpus and existing non Navi gpu's
    Replenished CRA Reports.2015 Zoe i nav -67-131 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb

    It depend on pc configuration. However i think that it budget may be above $800 for best quality.

    I had originally thought Ryzen 3k+Navi could provide value build.
    More recently it's sounding much more expensive though I shall wait and see...

    The gaming PC will price depending on its configuration. Different systems have a different configuration like RAM, Graphics Card, Storage and much more...

    I think this should build reasonably well even for my years old pre pentium knowledge.
    Holding off purchasing until Ryzen 3k is made available and any possible further cost reduction.
