    Yes, I can remember BBC 2 starting.

    No, I cannot remember Winston Churchill dying (I was a child at the time).

    I can remember half crowns and having a phone that was a party line and I can remember watching the moon landings on TV and I remember when Corcorde first broke the sound barrier.

    Ok I'm back with some wins a mini basketball and hoop for boy over the road (something plastic) , 3 free packs and a £5 note from Doritos (can't decide where to pick)

    Have to take it easy but am on the mend, laughing as I read along has helped.

    We had a party line phone after years of waiting outside the phone box for calls.

    BBC 2 started before Churchill died ...

    The question was whether I could remember these things happening. A lot of things have happened during my lifetime that I cannot remember (sometimes I can barely remember what day of the week it is:rotfl:). As a child I was probably more interested in what I might be able to watch on tv than the death of an eminent politician.

    Your signature tells us your a "Silver surfer" I think it is fab that this thread has kids from their early 20s to pensioners and we can all have a natter and a laugh and get along so well.

    We might not be winning a lot but the craic more than makes up for it.
