Our valuation was carried out on Friday last week. Would really really like to hear something before the end of this week. Fingers crossed for everyone sounds like we're all at similar stages. And thanks to ACG for your insights

Our valuation was carried out on the 3rd October. Pepper then rang me to confirm some details with me on the 9th (ie bank details, direct debit dates). It then went on a pile for final check. They are currently working on 7 working days to go through this pile of applications which means I should hear something tomorrow. So if anything like me you will hopefully get a call from them tomorrow to tell you something similar.

Big Thank you to ACG for helpful reassurance during a stressful time.

Jason and ’seriouslyunsurprising’ it’s good to have you both onboard as fellow stress-ees and all eagerly anticipating the next stage.

Pepper do seemingly have zero idea of the anxiety their square wheels brings.

I’ve been longingly driving past our new house taunting myself (it is empty/no chain by the way, I’m not stalking the current owner) Hoping to be in for Christmas.
Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

My alphabet-girls are with me every step of the way x

We are similar in that the house we're moving to an empty house and hoping to be in before Christmas.

Spoke to my broker today who'd chased Pepper and they said to expect a decision by the end of the week !!

I'm still waiting for a response from Pepper. My broker have confirmed they are doing the final checks today. But this wait is killing me. I just want to ring Pepper had say "just put me out of my misery please" :rotfl::rotfl:

Blimey Pepper do like to grind these things out. There is joke somewhere about Pepper Grinders.

Anyway maybe something for MyAlphabetgirls and seriouslysuprising to be aware of. Pepper did require some more info and that was simply clarification of my salary from my employer. They did go my employer directly but it might just be worth finding out who Pepper should contact in this instance just so Pepper know who to contact. I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to contact the relevant person at your workplace just to give me heads up and to ask them to deal with the request ASAP.

I contacted my HR department when I found out just to make sure they had received the request and to ask them to deal with it for you
  • Thanks Jason
    I'm self employed :D

However did get some news this morning.. it's taken them a week to tell us the valuation survey showed some damp in the downstairs so now we've to pay for a timber and damp survey to see whether there's a problem. Could lead to a big fat no :( feeling pretty despondent.

Thats not good news. When I sold my house a couple of years ago the survey report came back with damp in my downstairs kitchen. The timber and damp survey did show quite a lot of damp sadly. So the person buying put in a new lower offer. I ended up accepting the offer. Maybe something for you to consider.

Hey guys, frequent lurker, not really a poster, but just wanted to share my experience with Pepper.

We got an AIP Tuesday 22nd August, and this morning we received our mortgage offer. Just over 7 weeks.

There was a lot of additional documentation requested, our valuation was carried out 2 weeks ago today, and we received the a-ok from that last Thursday. We were told that they were completing "final checks" yesterday and as I already said we received our offer this morning.

I was a pepper customer after GE money was taken over by them. My experience was fine. The customer service was fine and they were fairly helpful when we got behind on the mortgage. I know the waiting is horrible, but based on my experience once you are actually a customer they seem ok to deal with.
